I know this should probably be in 'Wanted' but I'm only looking for the front engine pulley, not a full kit.
Anyone know who sells them ? cheers Andy |
GGR or Roger Clark Motorsport? I assume you're talking a lighter one than stock?

Dont forget with an Alloy pulley, you will be removing the cranks harmonic damper, which could lead to problems.
I posted a link to the MKIV supra site, which warned against fitting such aftermarket products. |
Cheers guys :)
I ran my chevy without a damper after MUCH research. The fatigue life of the crank will be reduced ......but to what level ? OE design will be for +200k miles. 25% of that will do me ;) Andy |
200K on standard tune maybe. IIRC, you might be pushing the crank a little harder than standard tune, so the cranks life is already reduced, before you decide to remove the harmonic damper.

The flywheels plays a similar role as far as I know. WHilst I cant explain it, I have seen 2 subaru engines that were fitted with a billet flywheel kill big ends in just over 1000 miles on a new engine.
I also heard of the same thing happen, on a Nissan 300ZX twin turbo. While it was being converted from Auto-Manual, the owner decided he wanted a ligh billet flywheel. This car also failed the big ends in a very short space of time after the flywheel was fitted. I know many do get away and their engines run fine, but it would certainly put me off using such things. |
