I couldn't wait any longer (for GT3) so I bought a copy of GT2.
Had lots of fun getting the first couple of licences and decided it was time for bed. I went to save my progress and it said it couldn't detect my memory card! (it was plugged in ok).
Boohoo.
Is this a known compatibility problem with the PS2 and GT2 or have I missed a trick somewhere?

Just checking - you did use your PS1 memory card in the PS2 didn't you ?

GT2 Works fine on my PS2.

as DazV said, you cant use a PS2 memory card to save PS1 Games to. You need to get a PS1 memory card for about £10 for an official Sony one. The other ones can be a bit dodgy (allegedly).

Make sure you get an official Sony card - I did 3 licences then found the card I had was dodgy and it wouldnt save to it...very painful having to turn the machine off without saving !!

A PS1 memory card. Hmmm makes sense now. I guess I'll be buying one of those tomorrow!
