Like I do, do you find people give you more 'respect' cos they reckon you might be a bit of a ganja boss?

When I was non-tinted I did notice more cars givin it the large one. A year of tints has made me notice that very few cars (especially at night) mess around.

This is security through obscurity, but does the trick (as well as making the car look better!)

It's a buggar to reverse the car at night, especially when it rains though :(

i agree m8, when you get kids trying to race you in their novas, clios, etc you just need to look over, give em a glare and they look away and suddenly look nervous!! again its better at night and theirs a few of them in their motor. funny though.

i have the rear and back two windows tinted with a smoke coloured film. i was wondering how the law stands if i get the front two windows done. is it possible to get the windscreen don as well?

I've had all except the front done. Originally asked for less tint on the fronts, but the guy forgot and done the lot with the darker stuff :rolleyes:

You can't do anything to the windscreen with the exception of a sunstrip. Bit dodgy on them at the moment. Ii had to take mine off to pass my MOT recently. The driver and front passenger windows need to let 70% of light through to be legal. Most tint places will tell you what they can do for you.
I wouldn't be without mine though. People do give you more respect.

i had mine done limo black and got no road rage since on my last car. Think the fact they dont know that half the ehgland rugby team isnt in the car kinda keeps people respectful

I think even a car jacker would think twice trying to jack you on the road because they can never be sure who (or what) you have in the car and tints are usually associated with the hard men - speaking of which - my car has become a mobile bedroom (or at least the backseat)

Put some Jamaican flag stickers on you're rear and front windscreen. They'll think twice then.

I was getting all worked up about getting my windows tinted to make folks think I was some kind of "bad-ass criminal mofo" then it occured to me that the Police might also reasonably assume the same. Then it further occured to me that I might get mistaken for a gang-banger and shot at for entering someone elses territory!

Once the back and side windows are tinted the inside of the car is so dark you can't see in, same principle as 1 way mirrors, they only work if the 'hidden' side is kept dark.

I found when I had tinted windows the car definately got more attention, but of the wrong type!! people used to thing there was something in there to hide so they used to smash the windows.

So tinting may look cool sometimes but it also arouses suspicion from car theives IMHO.
