see topic.

just wanted to hear some thoughts on this.

I am perfectly happy to get married and have kids in near future.

Mice_Elf 13 January 2003 01:50 PM

In which case, no.

If you're both happy, then who's business is it anyway as to your age?

Squizz 13 January 2003 01:50 PM

No... :D

NotoriousREV 13 January 2003 01:51 PM

I'm not sure "34" and "girl" go together ;) j/k

If you're both happy, go for it. 9 year gap isn't a lot really.

LG John 13 January 2003 01:54 PM

Nope! Not a problem mate :) AJ is *cough* 30 and I've not long turned 24 and we don't have a problem with age at all. We get on great and for me its highly refreshing to be with someone a little (;)) more mature who doesn't just want to go and get wasted every single night of the week :D

Give it a go, you've nothing to loose :)

555-Shaggy 13 January 2003 01:55 PM

Nope, Definitely not.. I have about the same age gap with my new g/f (we are slightly older than the pair of you) and we are very happy.. if the two of you are happy what difference does it make? None, I hear you scream - and anyone who has a problem with has a problem.. go and enjoy ;)

Bajie 13 January 2003 01:58 PM

If that's the only thing you're worried about consider yourself lucky ...

south-star 13 January 2003 02:00 PM

Someone very close to me is 37 and she's 24.It seems perfectly normal to me.
It all depends on what type of people you are:)

Adam M 13 January 2003 02:00 PM

I said 34 year old girl, because when I am with her, it doesnt feel like i am with a "woman" as such. Feels much the same as all other friends/girlfriends of any age before.

Could have said man and woman, but still feel the same inside as when I was 15, was not a man then so what has changed, therefore still think of myself as being a boy. But we are talking about one big mother fcuking boy here.

Thanks for replies people.

Amanda-Jane 13 January 2003 02:01 PM

Go for it! Kenny and I have so much in common and having the same interests is helpful in a relationship too.

You'll never know unless you give it a go! :D

Disco 13 January 2003 02:03 PM

Is she rich enough to pay for your mods Adam?....

If not, then shes way too old!;)

Seriously though, you're the only one that knows her well enough to answer the question, if age related problems never occur between the two of you then the age gap is irrelevant.

Hello

It depends what your definition of a "problem" is, and how mature you are.

I was in this situation, and the person that I was with wanted to have children. The maximum sensible age for women to start having children is around 36 or 37. Of course women can start having children later, but the probability of some form of birth defect / mis-carraige jumps astronomically.

So, if you are ready for that kind of commitment so early on in your life, then it's fine.

Steve.

carl 13 January 2003 02:05 PM

She might be able to teach you a thing or two

And let's face it -- just because you've got a 22B it doesn't stop you lusting after a Ferrari 250 GTO :D

If you do settle down, you'll have all the fun of ribbing her about her age, too

My wife's only three years older than me, but at the moment she's over 30 and I'm under 30 (for another 7 months, anyway). What a laugh.... :D

Edit: Having kids early in your life is great, as you can get shot of them while you're still in your 50s and can enjoy life. Can't understand these people who have kids when they're in their 40s -- I mean who wants them still around the house when you're 65?

Sounds familiar :D

Adam M 13 January 2003 02:09 PM

she wont be paying for my mods. :D

she hasnt even seen the 22b, it has been off the road for so long I have known her well for long enough to show it to her.

have always been an old man inside. career is on track, finances ok, for now, and we are both home owners.

I can only speak for myself obviously. I am ok with it, she may feel differently. She may not even want children, who knows.

all I know is that I have always been much older than my years. :(

carl 13 January 2003 02:11 PM

FWIW I 'settled down' when I was 22 and don't regret it at all.

John Catlin 13 January 2003 02:13 PM

I feel only time age can be a problem is when either party could be your son or daughter.

All the best

Err, too much information!

Back to seriousness, sounds all good to me mate. Lyndsy's a bit older than me, and the joy of birthdays is really quite special. OK, she celebrated her 30th whilst I was a spritely 28...

If you both feel happy, no worries :D

Claudius 13 January 2003 02:37 PM

Hello! :D

Guess what I am going to say? :D ... NO! I'm actually going to say something very sensible, for a change ;) LOL

I think you being 24 or 25 and your gf 37 is no problem at all; I know women older than that (details by email only ;) :D)

Seriously, who cares what age you are if you're getting along just fine and everything else ;) is ok?

But, there is a but: what about in 25 years time (assuming this is serious): you'll be 50 and she'll be over 60, something like 62 - 63; while that isnt a problem as such, most men at 50 tend you be with women slightly less than their age, or, if divorced, about half their age. Not saying people will think she looks like your mother (although that depends on how well she ages), but you get the idea. No offence, just a thought. :)

Adam M 13 January 2003 02:49 PM

claudius, no offence taken,

she is only just under 9 years older than me, not 12.

I think when I am 40 she will still look younger than me.

i am baby faced now, but it wont last Ia m sure. she however looks younger than she is, maybe 28 or so.

Nick, shut your mouth, you knew what I meant.

Claudius 13 January 2003 02:52 PM

Sorry Adam, I misread that for being 37.

Babyfaced, you say? :D Maybe try and grow a little beard? :D LOL

have fun

Claudius

carl 13 January 2003 02:53 PM

I think when I am 40 she will still look younger than me.
Jeez, don't I know that problem
My wife has no grey hairs, but I have loads. I reckon it's all the worry...

skipjack 13 January 2003 02:56 PM

absolutely not you lucky dog.

Richard Askew 13 January 2003 02:56 PM

Adam - do it mate!!

I draw the line at 40 and I'm 24 ;)

.err what I meant was I USED to draw the line at 40.. cant comment anymore cos I'm birded up with a 25 year old :D

..besides, dont chicks hit their sexual peak mid thirties?? ;)

carl 13 January 2003 03:02 PM

Yes, but blokes hit their sexual peak at 19  :(

Amanda-Jane 13 January 2003 03:05 PM

Markus 13 January 2003 03:09 PM

Adam,
to answer your question. nope the lovely lucky lady is not too old, nor are you to young for the lovely lady.

As long as both of you are happy than that is all that matters. If so called friends, or anyone for that matter, gets funny about things, then fcuk em! it's your life, not theirs so you do what you feel is right and what makes you happy.

As for the 'girl' comment, well, to me 'woman' does not sound 'right' for some reason, so I usually refer to my female friends as 'girls' and none of them have complained, well, ok, none of them have found it offensive, though some women can.

Oh, and there's nothing like being a toy boy ;) :D hehehehehe :D

Scoobydick 13 January 2003 03:12 PM

Watch out for the tits, these can be prone to sagging after dangling about for 35 years or so.

David_Wallis 13 January 2003 03:17 PM

Pre-nuptual (sp) as all women are b1tches  all men are bast@rds..

One day it will go pear shaped... (Good Luck :D)
