Right then phillips stereo in a pug 306 is made by phillips.
I have a six disc multiplay made by phillips and cant get a lead to connect the two together, and the pug hu is cd compatible. Any ideas anyone as its for a friend:Dand i need to get it sorted. |
There are at least two Philips changer protocols, i2c (DC082) changer and d2b (RC026 changer - as used in <MY01 Scoobs). They're not the same! The changeover year is around '96.
IIRC, the lead for d2b is ISO to DIN. |
mine is an rc026 so am i right in thinking it wont work
and i wont get a lead:D |
In Pug applications, RC026 is used with Philips 4050 / 8050 / DC722 head units. I reckon that you could source a bus lead from Philips.
The bus lead should be no different to that used in any d2b application including the Legacy and pre-MY01 Impreza. Same for Rover R860/R770, etc. Should be relatively easy to source. |
Local Subaru dealer wants £13 for a cable between Philips head and changer in MY98 Impreza, ask your Pug dealer and see if it's cheaper ;)
Does the changer get its power through that cable from the head then? Ben :) |
