Can anyone supply me with a list of the error codes which OE generates? For example:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: '********', Server: 'pop3.norton.antivirus', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

(BTW, account name removed)

Since I've updated to NAV 2001 I seem to be getting this message rather a lot as well as one that says 'cannot get lock - mailbox in use' and all my support people do is suck air through their teeth, and ask for the error codes. They don't offer any form of solution other than telling me to reboot which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, starting to get a little fed up with it all. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

Cheers

S

PS - Running Windows 98 with Outlook Express 5.50.4133.2400 and NAV 2001

Hiya Stuart.

By some strange fluke, I happend to read the MS Knowledge Base (KB) article that refers to this error only last week.

That's how good ole Symantec scans incoming attachments. Works very well on my PC, but I often see it cause havoc on other, less saavy computer users.

The MSKB article basically has you disable the protection features of NAV2000/2001.

If you launch Norton AntiVirus from the start menu, choose options, then scroll down to email options, you can tell it which accounts to check or not check, and it automatically configures itself.

The error codes are normally issued by your mail server, not NAV.
