OK, my car failed it's MOT on Saturday (full Scoobypsort from the turbo back) put the standard downpipe back on and it failed again (CO2 was 3%, everything else was fine)

Any ideas?

Take it to a "friendly" MOT station...

Is it possible the MAF is causing my car to run mega rich? I thought if the MAF was playing up it would be more likely to lean out the mixture?

I really need to get my car through it's MOT this week, so any advice gratefully recieved :)

Just in case my other plans don't come about, does anyone know what is causing my high CO2 readings and what can I do about it?

I'd like to know as well, as my 93WRX always fails the first test despite being given a good run to warm it up first (no centre cat, but standard down pipe still in place) Tester got it through by re doing the test using the lower rev limits (ie 2500rpm rather than 3500. Test stated 2500-3500 rpm) This time it passed ok :confused: Could my lambda sensor be on it's way out?

Anyone?

No advice on how to alter the mixture without a re-map?
No words of wisdom on effects of a failing lambda sensor?
No helpful hints regarding kaput cats?

I think you should get the outputs from the lambda and MAF checked by someone who has a Select Monitor.

The lambda should read up to 0.90v on boost and if it has failed completely will read 0.1v or 0.3v depending on which year car yours is. On idle the lambda should fluctuate between 0v and .86v

The MAF should read between 1.1v and 1.3v at idle.

It will be one of these two that has failed.
