Hi,

This is something I've been meaning to do for a long while. It seems like a good time of year to do a course of evening sessions.

I'll be looking in to it properly over the next week to compare courses etc. Right now, I favour The Red Cross but I've little basis for this.

So, two questions ...
  • Would anyone be interested in joining me ?
  • Does anyone have any experience / knowledge they could share ?
Cheers,

N :)

I took a first aid course last year set by The St Andrews Ambulance association. Although so far I've never be called upon to use the knowledge it is worthwhile doing the course.

The cost here in Glenrothes was £35-00p for 14 weeks, 2 hours per night once a week.

Get in there and go for the course it is worthwhile

Thanks Stan. :)

I'm an Offshore Medic, so I have some input in the training side of things! :D

The St Andrews one is probably the best bet - Private companies tend to run 5 day courses which cost £££...Not sure if Aberdeen First Aid School might run a suitable cut down course, at a reasonable price?

If you want any advice on any particular courses feel free to drop me a line: Ross.Taylor@bluewater-group.com

Cheers,

Ross.

I did the five day one (work paid)

Plus i get a decent first aider payment every month !!

In the Dutch Mill, watching the game, nice and warm. Later on, Stewartie et al were in hae'n a dram :D

Anyway, serious post ... so back on topic. Thanks Craig and Ross for your replies - noted.

BTW - anyone seriously considering the Ring Trip in the Spring, should really have some level of first aid training.

Cheers,

N :)[/b]
