......... door seals sure stops them freezing shut in this weather :D
|
How on earth did you discover that?
AJ |
Common sense..........a commodity not too many women posses :p
|
Is that a good idea? Vaseline is a petroleum-based product and the door seals are rubber...
|
Halfords Rubber & Vinyl Lubricant.
Yellow spray can. Stops exactly this problem on my lotus. Also, spray some in the channels the window slides in, and marvel at how much faster they are. Bri |
Will purchase bdrought
Cheers for advice :D |
Halfords spray works wonders but watch the overspray as it goes everywhere....

What can I say, guys will always have the same opinion of females! The other day walking around Tesco's with AJ she points out of the window and excitedly says, 'look kenny, a scoob' At this point I alert her to the fact that there are another 15 scoobs all lined up and she was in fact pointing to nobles forecourt....duh!! Then today, we drove past a Jaguar garage with a forcourt or some 30 odd jags when AJ says....'whats the car in the red....<she moves to get a better view>......oh, its a jag! Chathink :D ;);););) |
i been using "AUTOGLYM VINYL & RUBBER CARE spray " for a few years now and its great , it keeps the seals soft , supple and water resistance and stopps cracking ,, great stuff if you ask me

Saxo Boy - it's quite obvious to ANYBODY that your girlfriend hasn't got any common sense...
|
Time to defend myself I think! :p
I have never been to Nobles or Tescos in Penicuik before in my life. We had a wander round the forecourt and then headed off to Tescos for the shopping. From the back of the shop (I think and hope ;)) I saw a scooby parked up across the road and said to Kenny there's a scoob across the road. At that point the look Kenny gave me I will never forget. I just wanted the ground to swallow me!! Then today driving past the Jag garage I saw a red XK8 convertible but it had the hard top on and it just threw me, didn't quite look like an XK8! I'm not perfect :p AJ |
I'm not perfect Paul |

You may have a point and there is possibly a better product available but....... .....I think that applying a thin layer of petroleum based jelly which admittedly may slightly degrade the rubber, is preferable to having the seals ripped from the door frame  when you realise they are frozen solid and you still gotta get to work:D IMHO anyway:) AJ... Are you gonna stand for that kind of talk ;) [Edited by SiPie - 1/3/2003 1:06:22 PM] |
