Can you explain to an idiot what they do, I might be interested if so

caz1562 03 January 2003 08:40 PM

Vinnie

See here for all the info you need.

Vinnie Mac 03 January 2003 10:14 PM

thanks m8, is it much of a job to fit or get fitted, interested in the GB if it goes ahead though

caz1562 03 January 2003 10:33 PM

Vinnie,

You can fit the rear's yourself in 1/2 hr. Jack rear of car until weight has been removed from the suspension then you unbolt the old and re-fit the new. A novice task.

The front one's I personally haven't done yet (hence the GB) as these appear to be knocking and my MOT is due soon.

SilverSmith 03 January 2003 11:34 PM

Interested if the price is right ;)

wrxrob 04 January 2003 12:03 PM

yes im up for a set of rears as long as they fit a 94 wrx because i know the fronts dont fit also do they come with the yellow bushes as in the picture on the web site

caz1562 04 January 2003 03:30 PM

Rob,

I fitted the rears to my 95 WRX last year and the one's I bought were fitted with yellow bushes. Why should the colour matter you'd only see them when on ramps.

caz1562 04 January 2003 03:32 PM

Mmmm, Rob you shed more light on this debate too. I need to remove the front wheels soon to check which arms I have as you are the 2nd person I've heard saying the front links don't fit WRX's. Watch this space.

Vinnie Mac 04 January 2003 03:52 PM

I need to know about the front's as well m8, will definately be in the GB for the rears though

ozzy 04 January 2003 04:05 PM

Like Vinnie, I'd be interested in a set of fronts and rears for a MY99 UK RB5.

Are the ones on offer, the same MRT ones on Jamie's site? - http://www.performanceexhausts.net/braces.html

The ones marked 22mm Front and Rear Anti-Roll Bars, 2nd from the bottom of the page?

Oh, and are the fronts a DIY job too?

Stefan

wrxrob 04 January 2003 04:18 PM

caz 1562 count me in for a set of rears, the reason i asked about the bushes was i need to replace mine and i was going to ask if i need to pay extra for the bushes or do they come as part of the kit.

and as information i have gathered from previous posts the white line front link kit will not fit import cars as they already have metal links on them (i think this is right but might be worth checking with jw )i also believe rally colin can supply sti link kits??????????????/

Deep Singh 04 January 2003 05:14 PM

Rob I'm quite sure imports d'ont come with solid drop links.

caz1562 04 January 2003 07:53 PM

See Previous thread For some reason the original post has vanished ??????

Pair of either front or rear drop links £41 inc VAT from JW Racing. Jamie has indicated 15 sets required to be sold before price can reduce. Lets see how much interest we get.

So far we have 5 interested

If the front will fit a 95 jap import I will have them as well, but need to know before I order them

mark@wrx 04 January 2003 10:38 PM

Vinnie the front ones don't fit imports with alloy bottom arms.

Vinnie Mac 05 January 2003 09:33 PM

bttt

caz1562 06 January 2003 03:28 PM

Right,

I've looked at the front links on my 95 WRX and these are solid links as shown here Which means these aftermarket links are no use :(

It would appear that cars with alloy wishbones require the STi type solid link (what look like 2 ball joints linked together)

wrxrob 06 January 2003 11:04 PM

so are we still going ahead with the rear set up and the uk cars fronts???????????????????????????????????/

caz1562 06 January 2003 11:35 PM

Rob,

I don't see why not, I actually have the front's sussed for the Jap WRX's too.

The only issue is we need at least 15 to make it feasable with Jamie.

Vinnie Mac 07 January 2003 07:18 PM

How much for the front set up m8, will be interested if not to pricey

caz1562 07 January 2003 09:09 PM

Vinnie,

I'm looking into it just now. Will get you a price on Wednesday.

I estimate between £25-£35 I reckon for a pair.

Vinnie Mac 07 January 2003 09:34 PM

for anywhere near that, I am in for front and rear m8 :D

caz1562 07 January 2003 10:32 PM

For all those WRX/STi owners that wish solid front drop links I reckon I can get these via my works discount for a damn good price. Its not rocket science so.....

Yup, count me in Derek for this amount.

teknopete 07 January 2003 10:59 PM

Hey peebs,

Some info for the peebs asking questions ;)
Fronts and backs are a piece of cake to fit, the backs more so.
The fronts are not designed for use on early YM classic WRX`s but if you wanna take a chance they can be made to fit (I know, been running with them on big red for almost 3 years). However be aware they are not designed for that car ;) Funny though when I think about it, I`m sure some1 told me a couple of years back that morrettes didn`t fit either, so I fitted them as well :)

Oh and BTW these make a significant improvement in the handling and makes the cornering more predictable.

Pete

wrxrob 07 January 2003 11:30 PM

caz how many we got now?

ozzy 08 January 2003 12:17 AM

Stick me down for a pair of fronts and rears (MY99 RB5, if that makes any difference).

Stefan

Does this include bugeye WRX's? Presumably the sway bar on these are also the plastic type as I've seen the uprated ones for sale?

If so I am interested.

Further update - To manufacture the rosejoint front ARB links will cost a little more than 1st estimated. This is due to the catalogue I was using for the prices are marked against lower end of the quality scale joints. Thus to receive the better quality parts, yip you've guessed it, each joint involves a cost increase.

You can make these up yourself. Can offer pic's via e-mail since I can't upload pics for some wierd reason.
