Iain, wishing you a Very happy and Prosperous New Year and at these prices, Subaru have finally put themselves back where they belong at the top, this is a great deal and I might even be tempted back to the fold, have they brought out STRi prices? Cheers

X2WRX 02 January 2003 04:50 PM

Scoobyroof

Whats a STRi?
Only one STi model which is similar to the STi 7 Prodrive but now only £24995

Any more news on us getting a version with adjustable diffs?

25k tho. *grin*

I know what I'm getting next....

chrisp 02 January 2003 04:57 PM

Does it mean the WRX 3 is only half a good as my WRX 6 :D.

sillysi 02 January 2003 04:58 PM

With the new Mitsubishi EVO 8 coming in at £22K we are going to be spoilt for choice.

chrisp 02 January 2003 04:59 PM

and the Nissan 350z with 287 bhp for 26K IIRC

X2WRX 02 January 2003 05:01 PM

Prices for the GX version will not be announced until March, after the current stock of aroung 300 cars are sold.

The 02my GX's now have a choice of offers

Free Insurance and £1000 cash back
or

or

Ian, any news on the twin scroll / split diff version coming over later in 2003?

X2WRX 02 January 2003 05:07 PM

Ed

No mention of this model from Subaru UK I'm afraid.
Shame I want one myself.

Ian

ADP 02 January 2003 05:11 PM

Leather trim
Heated seats
Electric Sunroof

1500 quid to make your car heavier and slower.........

thanks for the info btw

Ian E 02 January 2003 05:15 PM

STi price looks the best as in effect the MY03 replaces the Prodrive version which was £27500. £25k is only 2k more than an EU import :)

WRX price still about £3500 more than an EU import but a step in the right direction :)

Cheers,

Ian.

X2WRX 02 January 2003 05:19 PM

EU import prices are supposed to be on the increase so hopefully the gap will close even more.

Ian

Edcase 02 January 2003 05:19 PM

Ian, thanks for the info.

My dealer has just confirmed the prices as well with the SL at 21K.

Has said that they can do march delivery on an STi8

Shame no twin scroll or DCCD though and I have heard no plans for the next couple of years at least

Good if your going to the dealers with cash, not so good if like me you want to chop in. I have asked for price to change from my UK300 PPP, so will let you know. That way we can all compare change prices to see where the best deals are.

Good to see the pricing going in the right direction though. Always thought the Sti7 Prodrive was a bit steep, but so was the UK300 PPP

I think that Subaru has had to rethink it's pricing structure, because as someone said the EVO 8 that has been featured in this weeks Auto Express will come in at an amazing 22 grand

Steve777 02 January 2003 06:04 PM

Ian,

Probably know tomorrow. Will post and see. I don't want to really get into a bidding war, but will if I have to.

Feel free to call and give me your view ?

Steve

£25k is only 2k more than an EU import
I would still rather live without the 'Type UK' badge and spend 2k on mods :)

Phil

Chins 02 January 2003 07:19 PM

I dont think the gap is £2k. Dealers have been known to discount. For the £1k difference its probably not worth the import hastle.

Ian Typo error!!!!!!!! should have said STi but I see you have answered that one Cheers M8

Edcase 02 January 2003 09:54 PM

If the Evo 8 comes out at 22k I'll buy you one!

Evo reckon on 2k less than current, which means about 28k.

Steve777 02 January 2003 10:06 PM

If the Evo 8 comes out at 22k I'll buy you one!
I think it was Auto Express claiming 22K for the new Evo. I believe that it is short of all the gadgets whcih are all optional and add to the cost

Still don't want one

:D

rich uk300 02 January 2003 11:09 PM

The evo coming out at 22k........is this the watered down version with 220 bhp?

Knight Rider 03 January 2003 01:22 AM

Will the MY03 officially be sold as WRX III ?

mccltd 03 January 2003 07:48 AM

Well I wont be buying another Subaru.
Wait 4 months for me STI7 then they announce a new one 6 months later costing £2500 less.
How to throw money away....

Pete Croney 03 January 2003 08:34 AM

Ian

Do you have any details on the new warranty structure?

I have heard that its 3 years manufacturer's rather than the old 1 year manufacturer and 2 years provided by Subaru UK.
