hi people have a problem with my computer can anyone help? system is a athlon 1ghz,abit kt7 raid board, g force 2 mx graphics card,scsi reader+writer,dvd 128mb ram at 133htz 30 gb h/drive and windows millenuim software, the fault is i keep getting an error blue screen up intermitantly and it says ":vcache(01)+0000Fc7 error oe 0028:c004e663, i mean what the heck is that? it seems to happen more when installing software but is doing my head in now i have tried reformatting and using basic drivers etc ,took out g force card and tried a basic ati pro 8 mb card (agp) still does it.i was wondering could 128k not be enough, how can i tell if i have enough ram installed if any one has any ideas please help,also i am not mega with these things so any help would be welcome..thanks in advance

Problem is more than likely Windows ME which feedback suggests is not that reliable/ stable. Someone with a more PC orientated background should be able to help further. I recall a few other people having issues with ME

What motherboard and is the card a pci or agp??

could try that as a solution as vcache seems most likely to be video cache

Did you build this yourself? Have you loaded the M/B manufacturer's chipset drivers? It seems as we advance apace, the AGP drivers provided by the manufacturer are becoming crucial.

Are you sure the drivers you have are supported for WinME?

If you can get online elsewhere, visit the M/B manufacturers site for Chipset driver upgrades, Graphics card manufacturer for driver updates and last but not least MS for similar.

What power supply you got?

(I know it seems a strange question, but you need at minimum 250 watt, but with that spec you may want 300 watts to be safe)

Can cause lockups that you seem to be having.

What CAS is your RAM? If you didnt specify when purchasing, chances are its CAS3, make sure in the BIOS that you have it set at 3.
To check its not the RAM causing the probs, go to the BIOS you should have a setting that is set to FSB + PCI (seeing as your using 133 Mhz stuff), change this to just FSB, and see if this cures your probs. If it does, your RAMs struggling. A lot of unbranded RAM has problems in Athlon machines.

Thanks fellas did try every thing you mentioned but Robski was that man the ram was breaking down and i had to replace it and its fixed so i stook another 128 in for good luck now have 256k thanks guys
