so i have: pioneer deh-p7100r,head unit pioneer 6 disc multi changer pioneer DAB (digital audio broadcasting) think the speakers are standard apart from 2 infinity speakers is the stuff i have plenty good enough to build a nice system with????? dont want to spend 100s of £'s just want a little more punch from it |
Punch comes in the shape of a 10 inch sub and amp combo. Big bang can be had for £200

Hi Prodrive
Ive got a Pioneer DEH-P8100R & Multi Changer tis very good, but its still got the OE Speakers :( Steve |
cool
what sort of wattage amp/sub would i need??? sonic, are our head unit's "like above average?" |
I think so
Mine came with the car (and I found the original receipt £850 quid !!!) So I guess its above average :), far better than the Subaru Offering, but then again a walkman beats that :) |
IIRC the Pioneer you have is a 4 x 45w. Plenty of power and not too far off my 8400. Depends what you call average but IMO good enough for what most people want.
You would be best off talking to an ice dealer about sub and amp packages. Mine is a 300w Power Akoustik amp with a 10" sealed sub of a brand i can't remember. Even my old setup had plenty of bang with a 240w amp and 8" 200w sub so it's gonna come down to how much bang you really want. Unfortunately that setup did go bang after 5 years of hammer:D |
Just to add. Don't be tempted by a £50 sub + amp package from your local car spares shop. They are crap. They bang, but the sound is not nice. Just imagine some cheap speakers hooked up to your hi-fi at home, and then think worse.
Like i say talk to a propper ice dealer who will probably have a rig with different subs to sample, or even better, a demo car. Let me know how you go. |
