Hi,
No joy from audio site so thought id try this one.Im hoping to install system shortly and running rockford bd1500 to 3 12" hx2 subs, and Kenwood KAC1023 to power mids and tops.Have 1f cap also, the rocky manual says to run 4awg to power the amp.Seeing as the main power will be taken by the rocky and cap would you run 1 length of 4awg and split off with distribution block to the Kenwood with 8awg.Orrun two individual power lines,or run 1 length of 0awg and use distribution block to the Kenwood.
Sounds all long winded i know but have to buy the power cable as soon as poss so have to make sure i get it right. Can get the 4awg local but having probs with the 0awg.
Also put on previous thread has anyone dropped a yellow top into a my99,needed to know if the battery tray lip would allow it or not.
Regards in advance
Gene

Had probs getting 0awg as well, have 4awg (Maplin) running through car from batt to 2nd batt in boot and to cap, off 2nd batt to dist box from dist box to amps with 8 awg, running kenwood 923 power amp and two jbl st 150 power amps with no probs Approx 50-70 amp needed to power on a fairly high volume level. Also use 4 awg for earthing points. REMEMBER fuses or circuit breakers at each end of your cable as close to battery posts as poss, i have two 100amp breakers one under the bonnet and one in the boot and separate fuses for amps and active x-overs etc.
Hope this helps you.(let me know if you come across 0 awg cable)

I was in PDS Audio in Fenton, Stoke on Trent the other day and he brought out a Phonex Gold Pack which was 5 meters of 0AWG cable with an inline Fuse allready wired in :)

Looked very nice! but i didnt enquire how much it was as I have 2AWG Cable and we were trying to establish the thickness, Max Audio in Cannock do a lot of big installs and may also have some, il let you know if they have it on the roll as im going soon..

hope this helps,

Leon
