I am one of those unlucky people whos insurance does NOT cover tracks days, so I have been speaking to Nik Kershaw, at Egger Lawson about track insurance for SIDC meets, he has come up with a package for SIDC members, as follows:

Option 1 – Per car, 1 driver

Sum Assured 6,000
Excess 750
Cover 5,250

Premium Per Day £55

Premium Per Additional £1,000 of cover = £9

**********

Option 2 – Per car, 2 or more drivers

Sum Assured 6,000
Excess 750
Cover 5,250

Premium Per Day £66

Premium Per Additional £1,000 of cover = £11

**********

Option 3 – Per car, 1 driver

Sum Assured 6,000
Excess 1,000
Cover 5,000

Premium Per Day £50

Premium Per Additional £1,000 of cover = £8

**********

Option 4 – Per car, 2 or more drivers

Sum Assured 6,000
Excess 1,000
Cover 5,000

Premium Per Day £60

Premium Per Additional £1,000 of cover = £10

This cover is for On Event Accidental Damage and covers:
The cost of parts
Repairs to parts
Fabrication
And specialist labour

This cover does not include routine dismantling and re-assembly, or engines and transmission.

If you have any queries about this please contact Nik on 0115 941 5255

I hope this is of help to somebody out there.

Any chance of swinging this for some of the non-SIDC owners who would still ike to come along?

Is this full-comp, and would your ordinary insurance need to be full-comp as well?

Nik Kershaw eh?

"Wouldn't it be good" to get decent insurance, even if it was for just one year....

Bet he's never heard that one

Ian Cook 24 February 2000 01:06 PM

Beef,

Unfortunately non SIDC members will not be allowed on the track at any of our events.

Danny Fisher 24 February 2000 01:21 PM

As stated, this is for track ONLY insurance. If you have any queries please contact Nik.

Thanks Dan

I've dealt with Nik (and his haircut http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif) for my track day insurance before. Both he and his colleagues know what they are talking about, and I would highly recommend them as a supplier of specialist cover. Luckily I've never had to make a claim, but one look at the two unfortunate Scoobies at Donno last time made me glad I'd covered myself for any "incidents".

Enjoy the day with peace of mind

You're not thinking of Nick Heyward from Haircut 100 are you? I'm talking about the spiky haired little dude.

Sorry, nothing to add to this topic except flippancy. I've got me coat.

I thought this was for Donnington. Now I'm confused.

Yex 24 February 2000 05:43 PM

Beef,

No need to be confused we're just helping put together a "Fantastic Day"

DavidLewis 24 February 2000 06:00 PM

Confused, more like a "Riddle"

DavidLewis 24 February 2000 06:02 PM

And while we are at Donnington, we'll be "Human Racing"

Oh dear......

DavidLewis 24 February 2000 06:04 PM

Anyway Beef, you're just a "Wide Boy"

I'll stop now!!!!!!

Akira 24 February 2000 06:47 PM

Changing my headlight bulbs in time for Donno because,.................................... "I won't let the sun go down on me" http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif lol

Well that's all his track names used then! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Good Insurance idea by the way.

Chris
