I have fitted a pair of 6x9's in my front doors, but I now need a bit of advice on what would fit straight into the back without hacking the shelf to pieces? The old ones are mounted from inside the rear shelf and not from underneath, which looks as if most of the rear interior has to come out too. Has anyone else had this problem? if so, how did you conquer it?
All advice grately recieved Cheers Marie |
I think that there is an artical in the SIDC FAQ re. fitting rear shelf speakers. I think you need to take the rear seat out, but I don't think it's hard.

I dropped a pair of Pioneer TS-E1695 straight into the existing holes. I prised off the grills to get to the old speaker screw fixings from inside the car. New speakers use same fixing holes and the old grills just sit back in the shelf over the new speakers. Job done.
Wouldn't normally go for Pioneer but these are great - will sound even better when I amplify em. Alex |
Gareth and Alex, thanks for the info, i will now try to have a go, Many thanks
