Hi Guys

My son is seeking his first placement as a junior or trainee graphics/web page designer. He has 9 GCSEs and has completed 2 years at college and has a BTEC Nation Diploma with distinctions. He has the talent but is finding it difficult to even get an interview.

He is 18 years old and lives in the Manchester area but will move to find work if necessary.

I was in a similar position 5 years ago, albeit trying to get into programming. Once i got sick of 'sod off' letters I started to write to local companies and asking if they would taske a trainee on. It worked for me.

Is he fully up to speed on Macintosh stuff ?? I deal with a number of big publishers and graphic design companies in that area but nearly all are very heavilly Mac based for graphics.
