'99 T plate Impreza Turbo, Richard Burns 5-dr limited ed.

Continual Misfire that isn't:

Plugs
Fuel Filter
Injectors.

As soon as the turbo cuts in it's like a rev limiter coming on. About 3000 rpm, does it when stationary as well.

Any thoughts/sugesstions?

I think i've heard about this one before. Have you looked in the technical forums?

Get the car on a select monitor or delta dash to check error codes.

Could be the coil packs, or a sensor gone

Could be overboost and the ecu cutting the boost level

It's not the fuel cut if it is doing it when stationary.

I had a similar problem, for months, on a car the same age as yours. Car would be driving along fine - and then big misfire - and actually in the dark - the lights went off as well!

The solution....well I changed everything - and did not solve it.

But then a revelation - I did the earthing mod - new earth cables to body, manifold and block. What a transformtion - no misfire - and for icing on the cake earthed the ECU and alternator. Car runs MUCH better and the radio sounds better (when I can hear it!)

Sorted.
