The other day, whilst in Comet I saw this small (about 20mm x 120mm x 15mm) pocket digital camera.
The quickpix Qp1 by Nisis
I fell for the demo and the talk the guy gave and as it was only £59.95 I brought it!

Now ok, for £59.95 what do i expect I hear you say. But i did not expect after seeing the demo were i was shown downloaded picture's of reasonable quality to then get home try the gadget out and have a load of little parts of the picture missing having been replaced with what i can only describe as little blobs of colours.

So when I take it back to Comet anyone got an idea what I should say is the reason I require a refund? Or failing obtaining a refund, what Digital Camera for about £250-300 should I exchange/purchase if they let me?

I've got a Kodak DC280 at home which I got for £351.33 and its the dogs danglies. You get tons of stuff with it like rechargeable batteries, battery charger etc. The picture quality is excellent and downloading from the camera to the computer takes seconds (via USB)

If you can afford a bit more we use the Kodak DC5000 at work which will set you back £450ish. Its the top of the range one with all the extra bells & whistles.

Mail me offline if you want anything else. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

How about it's crap??

Sale of Goods Act - has to be fit for the purpose - a camera taking MrBlobby pictures aint that!!

Tell them its faulty and get them to proove otherwise but say you want a refund as good are not of merchantable quality. My Dad had the same thing recently with a Relisys camera which was a pile of crap. You really do get what you pay for.
Save up them buy yourself something good. The DC280 that Stuart has is great as is most of the Kodak range from the now end of line DC215 to the big boys toys. I recently had a Canon Ixus and it was truly superb but they are pricy (500-650).

Stick to well knows brands such as Canon, Kodak, Olympus and Fuji and you won't go wrong. I supply this stuff and try and avoid selling these cheap cameras like a dose. Boomerang buys.. they come back in a few weeks max.

If you want help email me off line

For information:

Current consumer law no longer states "must be fit for purpose" but "must be satifactory for purpose", an improvement I think you'll agree. It also states that you do not need to accept a replacment or a credit note, but can demand a refund. If you wish to accept a credit note/replacement you may if you wish but it's your decision NOT the shops.

I can heartily recommend the Kodak DC-280.
