Anyone got any proper Japanese Koi Carp either in a tank or a pond?

Yeah 16 in a pond. |
no.

Yep. Quite a few with other fish in outside pond. Don't do much in this cold weather though.... Might be moving house and not sure how to move fish to new site.
|
Put them in a big tub of water?
Seriously, they should be OK if the water is the same stuff as in their pond (temp, chemical composition etc.) If it's cold and the fish are just sitting there then they won't use much oxygen and you may not need an aerator. I'm sure there are specialist fish transporters around though. |
Thanks Toerag, in fact it's a bit more complicated than that! There are about 50 fish all told and some quite big ones and the house we are going to doesn't yet have a pond!! So I was planning to put them in kids paddling pool or similar with temporary filtration until I build pond in Spring. But I have to get new water ready to accept them as you can't just transfer them into fresh tap water. Also they don't like being moved in very cold weather. Am looking around to find somewhere to "store" them for a few months. D.
