Does anyone know who the Stig is on Top Gear? If its common knowledge and Im the last to know, please go easy on me as I dont get out much. Cheers

Its Julian Bailey , watch on the 22nd as one of our cars is on .
One of our lads took it for filming for the day and whipped Julians's track time easily .
All the camera shots of the car sliding about is our driver as Julian couldnt get it to slide about at all .

Its a vodka kick sponsored mitsubishi lancer evolution 7 rally car. Stickered up to the max with multicoloured vk graphics.
Keep your eye out on bits falling off , as I was a bit pissed to say the least when we built the thing and had very little sleep due to the car needing to be finished on time for the world rally championship.
I wanted to go down on the day of filming as jeremy clarkson wanted to meet me (hehe) , but work was too demanding at the time , so I had to let him down and one of the lads took it.

Who knows?????

Apparently his identity cannot be revealed for contractual reasons which could be true. I do find it odd though that he would have the time or inclination to come to the UK each week for a tv show. Also for tax reasons I guess Jenson would want to limit the number of days he is in the UK.

Would STig Blomquivist (!!??) be to obvious for a suggestion?

It can't be damon hill- stig doesn't crash nearly often enough.

The Stig's quite short..... well, compared to me anyway :D

Saw him when Topgear was filming... I'd put him at about 5'4"

I suspect it's someone whose done some circuit driving or maybe an instructor, however he or she is not a "name" that everyone knows.

He is - I accidentally came face to face with him (still masked) at Top Gear fliming recently. He was very short - about 5' 3" and had a strong french accent as he said "please excuse me"... He even arrives and leaves Top Gear fully masked!!
