Take one damaged 1993 Saff Cosworth, remove all bits.

Take one 3 door 1986 2.0 Sierra.

What will/won't fit on the 3door? obviously the gearbox because the 3door will be 2wd!

But what about tank/axels/everything else?

Just need to know what will be needed from a proper 3 door cossie?

Just drivetrain, no bodywork involved ;)
Cheers

It will all fit and if you wanted (and alot of people have) you can put the 4x4 running gear in with a couple of mods  Why are you doing this?

Oh and what was the damage to the sapphire? you don't want the axles bent etc

As Paul says the entire driveline will fit into an 86 3 Door, with slight mods to the floor in the area where the transfer box will sit. The subframe, legs, TCA's & ARB must be transferred complete whether you go 4x4 or not, as they are considerably uprated.
Most of the interior will fit, but the Saff seats will not have the tilt mechanism in the fronts & the release mech is different for the rears

And the rear axle :D I put an xr4x4 rear axle (with lsd) in my old xr4i and they fit exactly the same  most parts are interchangable :D

Thanks for the info. The Saff has had a fire in the back seat.

The car has a break only order on it, so can't go back on the road!

Absolutely Mint though

Would you go 4x4 or rear wheel drive?

It's a mate's Project really :)

How hard is it to go 4wd? Is there any sites with info anywhere?

Seems I allways get a better response here than on the RS Board

Andy :)
