Got to work in Cardiff from Tuesday to Sunday this week. Can anyone from that neck of the woods suggest decent pubs/curryhouses etc?

Don't know if you're into it but there is a great Japanese restaurant there called Chikakko's - not just sushi either.

I'm a student, so I should know some decent places.

For a good pint, (not the watered down stuff they serve in city centre) and a good meal try the Blackweir tavern on north road. If you have to venture into town I recomend Dylans, which is in the pedestrian bit near the castle.

If you happen to see a passed out drunk guy in a gutter, that'll be me, so say 'Hi'.

I also heard that they have a pretty cool place nearby called Wales? All heresay, mind.

The place is more full of students than Welsh folks IMHO
