Hi All

A female workmate is trying to organise a driving course (single seater, rally car type thing) and has asked me for some advice, only problem is ive only done silverstone and although i found it very enjoyable and well structured, i was a bit dissapointed that it did not involve the main circuit. Have looked into the couses run by brands hatch and am of the opinion this is the best choice any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Simon

Mr Cracker which course did you do at silverstone ? Was it the Jim russel one day or full 1 week international ? I did the international saloon car course . Like you said they never use the international circuit unfortunately .

Also note that Jim Russel race school is moving or has moved to Rockingham . Well that's what the instructers told me last year.

I also checked out the Brands hatch Nigel mansel school , I didn't do it , but reading the brochure it didn't look that inspiring .
Althought a drive round brands hatch would be
a hell or alot more interesting ! :-)

The Aintree Racing drivers school comes highly recommended by a work colleague.

I drove the Tyrrell F1 car at Mallory Park earlier this year - 650 bhp, wet track, semi slick hillclimb tyres, cold brakes and tyres.......now THAT was an experience!!!

Was that just a one off type thing or do they run them as a driving experience.

Cheers

MrCookie

It's a package that anyone can buy (£1000!!) run by a company called Tangerine - though I heard a rumour they have now gone bust - if you are interested they have a website.

You go round in a Golf GTI with the instructor driving, then you drive 6 laps in an Elise, then 7 laps in a F.Ford, 10 laps in a F. Vauxhall Lotus, then (if you've survived so far) 8 laps in the Tyrrell. A 1988 Jonathan Palmer race car but nevertheless VV quick! Good fun! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Mr Cookie

I confess to reading Max Power (along with Evo, Car, CCC) so I can cover the whole social spectrum - but not on the train where anyone can see me!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
