Before (with Prodrive Eibachs)

http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...5445952977.jpg

After (with '02 Eibachs)

http://upload.turbosport.co.uk/getpi...3324478614.jpg

Trouser - thanks again mate for fitting my car in today and putting the Eibach '02 springs on, they are awesome, the car is even better than the prodrive springs, there is less body roll and less diving under braking - and the handling is much improved in general! love 'em! :D

I'll be up again after Xmas I'm sure, must do the beers again!

And i'll keep it shiny side up! :D

Mikey - thanks matey, it was bl**dy cold out earlier wasn't it!

Salsa - LOL neons, don't think I'd get away with that mod matey! :D

Thanks to Glen & Becks for their work on the car today, its amazing how much better the lights are when they are aligned properly! thanks for sort that too!

Cheers, Alex

PS. the '02 Eibach has dropped the back another 10mm (i reckon) and the front around the same! :D :D

Daz34 12 December 2002 08:13 PM

How has it affected the ride if any? Looks Great.

Daz

Dougster. 12 December 2002 08:53 PM

Needs tints and BIGger wheels!!

Sweet though as is! ;)

evo5uk 12 December 2002 08:54 PM

Cant seem to notice that much difference in right height. Well, not from the pictures anyway.

So Dr is the new eibachs much better than the prodrive springs?? If so i'll be rining up the TSL meister sraught away (well first thing tomorrow anyway):D

HHxx 13 December 2002 12:55 AM

How about a turbo upgrade next then? ;)

Looking good

H

DrEvil 13 December 2002 09:27 AM

Cheers you lot.

The pictures really don't give you a good impression of the difference, but it was noticably lower after the springs were fitted.

I'd say ultimately the ride is better, I've done my normal drive to work this morning via some good and some bad B roads - and the strange thing is it seems to handle the bumps better, certain places I definitely used to hit the bump stops (or rather hear a thud) at certains speeds, I don't anymore!

As for the handling, it is so well composed, there is a quite a huge difference with the new Eibachs, much less body roll and much reduced nose diving under braking. Definitely able to carry more speed through the corners. :D :D

All in all, I don't think its impaired the comfort side of the ride quality to any great degree (or rather noticable degree).

I would whole heartly recommend them!

Rice - NOOOO no neons on this one mate! ;) :D

As for 18"s, I've been down that route before and found with the roads I use that it wasn't a good idea - hence the lightweight 17"s instead.

The Eibachs should be top of any Euro owners list of mods to-do!
I just can't believe how well sorted they have got it!

Rgds, Alex

PS. HHxx - indeed, a turbo is on the list of mods, but the plan is to buy a new car end of next year with a turbo already in it! :D

Andy Tang 13 December 2002 09:44 AM

Oh Jesus.... does that mean you can drive it even quicker now!!!

Looks good matey! :D

DrEvil 13 December 2002 09:54 AM

Andy - do you fancy another passenger ride in the country then? ;)

Cheers mate, Alex

DrEvil 13 December 2002 09:56 AM

PS. forgot to mention, still made it over the work car park's speed ramps (some of the worst I've come across, very similar to the ones near you MATTeL) - no issues, no scraping sounds or anything! :)

Apple 13 December 2002 12:21 PM

Looking good Alex - hope the Eibachs are doing their job after the Prodrives ;)

I'm in next week for my lights setting up - it'd be nice to see a bit with the HIDs in after the dog's b comments on them from others :). Do we guess the factory settings are miles out?

Apple

MATTeL 13 December 2002 12:41 PM

That is good news Alex, I still scrape on some bumps now and again with him "old" Eibach springs... don't think I an afford the extra drop!:(

See it on Sunday hopefully!;)

I love the look of that car... it really is subtle and very evil looking... so 50% like the driver then!:D

Gridlock Mikey 13 December 2002 01:02 PM

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D ..like the driver... D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

ice man 13 December 2002 01:09 PM

Looks good mate.
Is it just the springs you have upgraded mate or have you upgraded the struts as well.

DrEvil 13 December 2002 02:02 PM

Apple - after our chat, I spoke to Graham regarding your requirements (while I was up there) - I really do think you should consider the '02 Eibachs for yours - as I said get Graham to take you out in his 4dr WRX, he has them fitted - I think you'll find they will fix the issues you have - at a lot less cost.

MATTeL - I think thats more the size of your body kit mate! :)
Plus, in your case you already have a very good set-up! :)

Mikey - LOL :D

Ice Man - just the springs - both Graham and Paul were amazed how well these worked on the GX, as the damper rate is ever so slightly different to the WRX, which is the car they were designed for (WRX that is).

Just taken some colleagues out to the pub, they were more than a little surprised how well the car handles for a family estate! ;) :D

DrEvil 14 December 2002 09:55 AM

Still lov'in the springs :D

IanW 14 December 2002 10:04 AM

Looks good Alex! :D

Edcase 15 December 2002 12:05 AM

Perfect, is what I would say. Dr Evil / Trouser, how much for a set of these + fitting? (MY02 WRX???)

Edited to say what lip spoiler is that? The OE Subaru one???

[Edited by Edcase - 12/15/2002 12:06:51 AM]

DrEvil 16 December 2002 02:10 PM

Edcase,

I think the springs + fitting + laser geo is approx £355+VAT.
The front lip is the Subaru 5dr front lip spoiler.

Thanks for your comments. :)

Alex

wrxrob 16 December 2002 11:46 PM

too much bloody money i say!

Trouser @TSL 17 December 2002 09:36 AM

Alex m8.. an Ed case of course £325 plus VAT (£381.88 inc) bottom line fitted and aligned.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Paul

DrEvil 17 December 2002 12:38 PM

WRXROB - well I heard you were in Bannings recently, spending more, so pots n kettles! (sold those wheels yet? ;) )

Trouser - sorry mate, for some reason thought it was more than that!?!

Edcase 02 January 2003 10:37 PM

DrEvil, without wanting to sound like a stalker looks like I may be getting the same wheels as well as the same springs ;)

Can you tell me if there was any noticeable difference with the lightweight wheels over the standard WRX 17's?

markpm 03 January 2003 03:37 AM

Is it just me or does it now look like some sort of mad Scooby Hearse!!??:D:rolleyes:

Quite good for a guy called Dr Evil I suppose!

All hail the Scoob Hearse!

NICE!

DrEvil 07 January 2003 11:31 AM

Ed - hopefully answered your questions in the other thread.

markpm - wait til I get the windows tinted, then its gonna look really mad. :D

what would scooby do 07 January 2003 11:51 AM

£325+vat ! - seems reasonable to me, if my existing STI dampers are in OK condition would it be fine just to replace the springs ?? - classic scoob mine is..
