A friend of mine has an M3 and as this is the only BBS that I know of that is any good I thought I'd post a question for hm on here:

Has anyone had any experience with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres (235/40 on 17inch wheel)?

The recommended tyre for them was the Michelin MXX3 but this has been withdrawn by Michelin and superceded by the Michelin Pilot Sport.

The info I have seen so far ranges from "all tyres are the same at that level", "Continental are as good as Michelin but a fraction of the cost", "Pirellis and Dunlops don't last long as they have a soft composition", etc.

Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated...

Forgot to add that the best quote for a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres at 235/40 (17" wheel) has been about £600. Has anyone seen any better prices around?

Not being funny or anything, have you checked the wheels and tyres section?

There have been loads of discussions about tyres on this BBS. Try a search (mid-Top right hyper links) on Michelin see what you get.

I did have a look before I osted this but not many people seem to use Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. I found a bit of info but thought that I'd post this in case someone had come across some more since those posts. In fact I actually replied to some of the posts I found hoping that someone would continue the thread but they had pretty much ben forgotten as they were more than a few months old.

C'est la vie...

Check out Goodyear Eagle F1s.

My father in law who was a design engineer for Dunlop still reckons Michelin are the tyre they all aspire to.
