A friend of mine has an M3 and as this is the only BBS that I know of that is any good I thought I'd post a question for hm on here: Has anyone had any experience with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres (235/40 on 17inch wheel)? The recommended tyre for them was the Michelin MXX3 but this has been withdrawn by Michelin and superceded by the Michelin Pilot Sport. The info I have seen so far ranges from "all tyres are the same at that level", "Continental are as good as Michelin but a fraction of the cost", "Pirellis and Dunlops don't last long as they have a soft composition", etc. Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated... |
Forgot to add that the best quote for a set of 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres at 235/40 (17" wheel) has been about £600. Has anyone seen any better prices around? |
Not being funny or anything, have you checked the wheels and tyres section?
There have been loads of discussions about tyres on this BBS. Try a search (mid-Top right hyper links) on Michelin see what you get. |
I did have a look before I osted this but not many people seem to use Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. I found a bit of info but thought that I'd post this in case someone had come across some more since those posts. In fact I actually replied to some of the posts I found hoping that someone would continue the thread but they had pretty much ben forgotten as they were more than a few months old. C'est la vie... |

Check out Goodyear Eagle F1s.
My father in law who was a design engineer for Dunlop still reckons Michelin are the tyre they all aspire to. |
Thanks for the info. I'l give 'em a call. |
