No problems at all with a Dutch import. If it was registered in Jan it must have been manufactured the year before - they take a few months to get over on the boat from Japan :) Insurance is exactly the same as a UK main dealer supplied car. UK dealers service 'em.

Same car made on same production line but the boat dropped it off at a different place :) Buy it :)

Cheers,

Ian.
(Dutch supplied MY00 owner!)

P.S. if you do buy it make sure you get the VAT paperwork with it.

Lets just say I bought mine last Monday

I think u where after this too stu :)

Sonic Blue MY00 Dutch Import, 13k miles, standard apart from 17" speedlines

Ive just got back from Pro Sport in Stockport who kindly fitted my Magnex BB & De-cat centre section which I bought from POC last night via this board

Every one who has seen it, said it was mint, even Jason from Top Gear (my friends next door neighbour :)) said it was a bargain, and well worth it

Mainland in Widnes said it was great too

Guess you cant go wrong

Steve

I too have a Dutch car, very happy with it, no problems at all due to its country of origin.

kamikaze 09 December 2002 08:16 PM

u shud got for it.
You would be suprised at the amount of dutch cars around now.
when I imported my my00 in dec99 there were 2 other people with the same car on the ferry, and this was midweek
At the end of the day all the cars come from japan, and it will be uk spec so no problems

Si James 09 December 2002 08:54 PM

No woried mate, I have one. Its a UK car, but with aircon.I have cruise too.

Tractor 09 December 2002 10:29 PM

Only issue is it won't have any warranty left, whereas a UK car should have a bit.

P1Fanatic 09 December 2002 10:42 PM

I bought my MY00 DBM Turbo in June and it was in mint condition. Had less than 5k on the clock as the owner had been abroad a lot and just kept it in his parents garage. No aircon but I didnt really care. Had the Prodrive PD7 17" wheels in gold (with rubber works out around £1.4k as a dealer fit option). Extended warranty from 1 to 3 years which was the main selling point for me.

##########Think it cost me £25 to transfer the 1.5 year remaining warranty to me - you have to do this 2 weeks after the sale of the car for it to be valid##############

Ins should be the same as UK car. UK dealers service them no questions asked.

Mods so far:
Colour coded side sills and rear bumper strips
Toyo T1-S Tyres
Blitz Nurspec R Backbox
Forge VTA Dump valve
Momo Gear knob
Pink Sti Grill Badge
Clear Side Repeaters

Gonna debadge the back and colour code the orange wedges this weekend.

Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Simon.

chiark 10 December 2002 08:25 PM

Yes, I did :)

Grab a bargain, it's the same as a UK car, particularly once the warranty has expired :)

Hi Stu
Have just collected a parallel import from NCT Netherlands. Am waiting to see if warranty is valid. Vale Subaru at Yeovil are checking, but warranty issues don't seem at all straightforward with imports even if they are from Europe.

Eagle7 15 December 2002 03:13 AM

if you buy a dutch import to UK spec then its exactly the same as a UK car. Mine is a dutch import.

If you register the warranty in this country, they have to honour the one year warranty (by law).

Si James 15 December 2002 11:19 AM

True, EU law.

met 15 December 2002 12:35 PM
