Since the current topic seems to be action sports (as I believe they're known), is anyone into mountain biking ? A lot of you seem to be quite into such things.

Nice one. I used to do a lot of riding a few years ago, but then drifted out of it for a while. Start of this year I decided to get back into it again so I bought a new bike and am currently exploring new trails in my area. Fortunately for me, a fifteen minute ride on the road puts me on top of the Black Mountains in West Wales, so there's a lot of trails to get through.

I still haven't found the extreme downhill yet but I'm working on it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.

Fifteen minutes in the opposite direction gets me to an old BMX track where dirt jumping is the order of the day.

Any more mountain bikers?

David

Hi Dave,

Used to do a lot of riding - was sponsored to ride all the NEMBA and national races (can't remember the years - probably 91-94 it was quite a while back!). Had to stop racing due to a knee injury and pretty much stopped riding mountain bikes about seven years ago. Got heavily into surfing and snowboarding instead, but picked it up again about three years ago. Actually, the main reason for buying the Scoob was that the Fiat Coupe I owned at the time couldn't fit a bike on-board! Anyway, still riding but not as 'serious' as before - much more into the fun side of things... full suspension, dirt jumping, etc. I look back at my race days and now see that I've turned into what all 'serious' racers used to hate; an unfit, expensive bike owning, weekend downhiller bum!!!

I ride a couple of bikes, a full bounce and a trials bike... I seem to spend most of my time playing around on the trials bike, even though it looks far to little for a "grown up" to ride... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I don't ride enough these days, but that's because my knee had to be fully reconstructed after a fall of the trials bike and I haven't really got my heart back into it again... yet... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I've been for the last 4 yrs and always had an absolute blast. Nice to meet up with like minded people and ride in some real mountains (sadly lacking in the cambridgeshire area !!!) ..... and have the odd beer or two http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
