But take into account the 15 extra miles each way (or there abouts) to get to the shell garage each time I would want to fill up....whereas the bp garage is about 1.5 miles away.

So at 21 mpg around the town, thats a gallon and a half wasted just to save a few pence a litre :( I cant be arsed to do the maths ;)

Yes Steve, it got me home in 23 minutes. Ferne even commented it seemed smoother and better from a standing start on her drive to work :D

Edited to say we only do 4000 miles a year, so its not too much of a hardship to have to use the SUL.

Since I got my MY02 PPP'd I've been trying to run it exclusively on either Optimax or SUL, but where the hell do you guys manage to find SUL? I've already had the Scoob sat on the drive with a teaspoon of fuel left in the tank once, after I'd been to no less than 8 filling stations in and around Hull looking for a fill!

I've tried BP, Texaco, Jet, etc. but always have to default to the nearest (not so near!) Shell for Optimax.

I've seen half a dozen Scoobies around Hull recently, if you are on Scoobynet where are you filling up?

Paul.

albob 08 December 2002 10:36 PM

might sound daft - but have you tried Sainsbury's ?!
my local one sells SUL

alan

Crouchy 08 December 2002 11:02 PM

No I haven't, steered clear of supermarket petrol after reading some comments on here about it!

Thanks Alan, I may swing by the local one and see if they have it.

Paul.

Mossman 08 December 2002 11:07 PM

Hi Paul, may have seen you about mate. I always use Shell Optimax at Willerby or Welton lights.
Cheers.

:)

Crouchy 09 December 2002 12:41 AM

Hi Mossman, exactly the 2 stations I use, filled up at Shell Willerby tonight!

Trouble is they are both the wrong side of Hull (West) for me, I'm out in the sticks East of Hull, on the road to nowhere...

Paul.

RaZe-=Buzz=- 09 December 2002 09:31 AM

Being in Garden Village (East Hull, James Reckitt Ave area) if Im not passing the Shell garage at Welton I go to BP opposite B&Q on Stoneferry - sells SUL, but its a bit expensive @ 90 odd pence per litre. Still, my little my96 deserves it :D

P20SPD 09 December 2002 09:59 AM

Buzz, car ok?

Crouchy, there is the Shell at Melton traffic lights on the Clive sullivan way.

I f i ever go to Hull, thats where i fill up.

Crouchy 09 December 2002 11:23 AM

Buzz and Graham- they're ideal! I can easily use Holderness Road to come in on, albeit slowly....

I musta tried every garage that doesn't sell it!

If you are running short into Hull P20SPD, there is another Shell station at Goole, junct 36 M62 just next to MacDonalds/Glews Garage, saved me walking a few times!

Cheers Guys,

Paul

P20SPD 09 December 2002 11:34 AM

Forgot to say that i call in there too if desperate as they are bloody expensive compared to most other shell garages about.

P20SPD 09 December 2002 11:46 AM

Mad i say, mad:rolleyes:

Let me see, Optimax at approx 75p per litre, superunleaded (if you can find it) at 90p per litre. 30000 miles per year, averaging 260 a tank full. No way!!:D:D £950 a year:eek::eek:

WRXBOB 09 December 2002 01:11 PM

The magic of Scoobynet !

I've just started seeing a bird from Hull, now I know where to fill up when I'm visiting her!

Cheers

Bob :D

and before anyone says it, no not the feathered kind of bird!

Ferne 09 December 2002 01:29 PM

Why don't we have a Hull meet before Crimbo?

Ferne 09 December 2002 02:01 PM

Hi - yup saw you too. I was running a bit late today as I'm usually in work for 8. Sorry but I had a little giggle to myself that there was actually another Scoob a little dirtier than mine!
So where's your car going - on a little holiday?

grahambeal 09 December 2002 02:16 PM

its going away for good sold to a new luckly owner. Living out in the sticks in Holderness means its a bugger to keep clean, only washed it on Friday!!!! will give you a wave if I see you tomorrow morning :)

Ferne 09 December 2002 02:25 PM

OK. I'll wave my G-Force Jesus at you. Have you seen them? You get them from the Gadget Shop for four quid (I must remember to take it out of the car when my Mum gets in), they are absolute class!

RaZe-=Buzz=- 09 December 2002 02:30 PM

So are you going to babysit then dear while Graham and I go out for a pint? Its only fair...

:D

Ferne 09 December 2002 02:34 PM

No as it was my suggestion!

grahambeal 09 December 2002 02:37 PM

LOL!!!

RaZe-=Buzz=- 09 December 2002 02:47 PM

I go out and get drunk

Ferne 09 December 2002 02:49 PM

Yes dear - is that like "You wear the clothes, I wash the clothes, YOU IRON THE CLOTHES, I put the clothes away.

RaZe-=Buzz=- 09 December 2002 02:54 PM
