There are very few independant brokers left. The majority use NU, which, as we all know, has the virtual monopoly on the bike market. Carole Nash for the older bike, Kirwin Smith 'cos they seem to try hard (NU based?) Arthur Marsh (NU based but good thoughput so cheap) & Eagle Star being the other main insurance co. I think you will find that NFU cover bikes, but not intentionally, but worth a go (Karen in Northants).

The problem is that bikes are easily nickable & most of us have them as a "recreational" vehicle & don't treat them with the same respect as a car & bottom line, people are more vulnerable to Joe Public (not at fault) & hence more accidents ERGO higher premiums.

Just be glad that you are not Couriers - 100% loading & they're probably safer riders...

I use motorcycle direct - you need to join the BMF as well to get a discount with them - cheapest by a mile for me.
Have'nt got the number to hand, but in MCN.

I've use Carole Nash this year and they seem pretty good. Cheaper than the majority of quotes I got, but what swung it for me was the free green card and European breakdown cover - very useful if you're planning a blast on the continent. I've used Bennetts before as well and can recommend them too.

cheers,

Andy
