Thanks for the web address John, one more question please :) what do you use to transfer and edit the footage, you seem to get good quality and file sizes for the running time.
I am looking to purchase some editing software myself but am a bit confused and would appreciate advice from someone actually using a product. :)

That pit one is very amusing!

Styx 01 December 2002 10:10 PM

Very good thank you

mavrick 01 December 2002 10:15 PM

john excellent footage again, I always enjoy watching your films.

Where did you get your camera mount and what kind of camera do you use :)

SiDHEaD 01 December 2002 10:25 PM

i don't have a scoob yet, so...

What's the red light that keeps flicking on and off on the full lap vid?

Andy

johnfelstead 01 December 2002 10:41 PM

Camera i use is a JVC GR-DVL166EK mini DV camcorder, it's mounted to the back window using a suction mount SM1 from here http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Mounting%20Brackets.htm

the light you see coming on is the intercooler water spray low level warning light, the other light is the centre diff position indicator. (set to fully to the rear)

John,
Will these only work on broadband or do they take ages to load up ?

Tony

P1Fanatic 01 December 2002 10:46 PM

Getting 800k/sec so no problems with the hosting.

johnfelstead 01 December 2002 10:49 PM

dont try running them in your video player, use right click, save target as and download them first.

P1Fanatic 01 December 2002 10:55 PM

Nice clips JF :D One day I will join u chaps on track.

Great~taste~Bloke 01 December 2002 11:09 PM

John,
Not only can you drive :D:D but you can work these swear boxes with small Tellys on top of them :(

Tony

mutant_matt 01 December 2002 11:17 PM

Fantastic vids m8 - any chance of some more? (how about a sideways compilation vid? ;):):D)

Top work fella,

Matt :)

jameswrx 01 December 2002 11:24 PM

James

Scoobychick 01 December 2002 11:26 PM

That was me in the car with John coming into the pit lane and it was truly spectacular :D:D:D

I had four fantastic laps with him and didn't scream too much ;) :p

Sal

johnfelstead 01 December 2002 11:29 PM

i'll stock up on the valium next time Sal. ;):D

Re-Volt 01 December 2002 11:36 PM

johnfelstead 02 December 2002 02:37 AM

pretty much all the corners of the track not using the racing line. LOL :D

sideways compilation, on a slower server than the other 4

DocJock 02 December 2002 08:07 AM

Oi !!
That's not what you showed me when you gave me a lesson. ;)

Great stuff John

P20SPD 02 December 2002 08:46 AM

Quality:D

JackClark 02 December 2002 08:52 AM

Brilliant, thanks for those.

mutant_matt 02 December 2002 08:53 AM

John,

The slower server really is slower - I'm using a 2MB connection at the mo and getting about 8K/sec :eek: It'll have taken about an hour to download in the end.....I'm sure it'll be worth it though... ;);):):)

Matt :)

mutant_matt 02 December 2002 09:49 AM

Top collection of slides there John - did I really say "yippee" as appreciation after some of those corkers?:eek::rolleyes:;):):D

Ta,

Matt :)

Scoobychick 02 December 2002 10:05 AM

ROTFLMAO @ 'Yippee'!!! :D:D:D

mutant_matt 02 December 2002 10:21 AM

At least the rest of the time I managed to reserve myself to "way hay" - which is a little less embarrassing ;):):D - at least we can't hear you screaming Sal - John must have carried out some clever audio wizzardary during the edit process ;);););)

Matt :D

johnfelstead 02 December 2002 02:19 PM

Saturday was all about being a loon in safe suroundings John, you cant get away with that at places like the ring, so i made the most of it. ;):D

Sal was pretty good actually, there was plenty of muttering to herself at times ;) but i thought she was very composed. Last time out on track she went with Stef and he scared the crap out of her. :D

Glad you enjoyed the ride matt, you didnt bother me at all jabering away in my left ear. :D

I have lost one of my Mini DV tapes from the day, so if anyone picked one up, it's mine!
