Dude.
got mine a few weeks ago.same problem, but dont worry.
If it is wax its more of a pain than anything else, difficult to clean.
Or is it corrosion ypu r talking about????http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/vscared.gif

i think it could be abit surface corrosion too ,, is this a big prob ???//

its from a subaru dealership , surley they wont sell a dud car ,,,,,, :(

Hi
Wouldn't worry bout it sounds like surface corrosion on the alluminium if it's white. Get your autosol out:)

thx james i was begining to ****e myself then ,
its seems to be on the alternator at front and on lower engine block in places , like its never ever had a clean poor thing

so a few tins of autosol it is then ,,,,, :)

exactly the same as mine Dude.
Dont worry and enjoy, apparently its pretty common, they usually put all the wax on ,to not make it worse.Mine was from an independant dealer, got it proper checked by the AA,and thats wot they told me,also got to know a few fellow owners on this site, which are nice geezers and they have told me the same.

Enjoyhttp://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/jump.gif

so davy1 do i need to get some wax put over it after i try and clean it ? i used autoglym engine bay protector before which is like a wax sticky stuff , goes on like milk

davy1 30 November 2002 09:48 PM

If youve got the time, clean off all the crap(WAX) then just give it a going over when you think its getting a bit grubby.
The wax duz protect, but it melts wen hot and spreads evrywhere, and it stinks. So dont worry about dodgy smells either
