Today I tried to arrange fitment of a gearbox lock, as advertised and recommended in the latest True Grip magazine.
I spoke to Ian Platt who seemed nice and very genuine which resulted in me going to Lavender Hill in Enfield to arrange fitment.
Now, if any of you guys are interested in getting one of these devices to further secure your vehicle contact Lavender Hill and ask about it.
If there is enough response it will only be to the benefit of us all as Ian Platt will train some of the technicians there regarding installation. Liverpool is a long drive away.
I'm not making any profit out of this, just letting you all know.

Do you have any other contact details for this guy. I am interested in calling him.

Cheers

I was very interested in the product as well after reading about it.

So when I bought a new car from my dealer, I gave them call.

Mill Lane Engineering in Basingstoke, fitted one to my car. Dead chuff'd with the product. Big peace of mind, and a £100 reduction in my insurance!!!

What do these cost roughly, including fitting ??
Very interesting....

AllanB 15 June 2000 10:11 PM

Spoken to Lavender Hill and they won't be fitting these but the people who make them will come down to fit them and Lavender Hill will allow thier premises to be used.

I don't know if this is true but I heard if you depress the clutch then the car can be rolled away even with the barrier deadlock fitted.

Subverbal,

A few subaru dealers fit these themselves. Showells in the West Midlands charge £245 incl VAT & fitting, Carstins charge £287.

Hope this helps.

Neil.
