WREXY 13 April 2003 12:15 AM

Do you mean Delta Dash? If yes, from EcuTek, www.ecutek.com. Go to products.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Jas W 13 April 2003 12:56 PM

no i mean the maf sensor

WREXY 13 April 2003 10:19 PM

Any Scooby dealer. :D Just quote the part number 22794AA010 - Meter CP-AIR Flow and you should be right.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

MKC 14 April 2003 01:56 PM

Thanks.

Subaru confirmed that "Meter CP-AIR Flow part number 22794AA010
is £73.51 inclusive VAT. For Subaru to install is £ 35 + vat.
They said that they "set this up, reset and check...".
They usually have these in stock.

How easy is it to install this if you are not technical and only have a socket set and a few screwdrivers? Does something need resetting ? How easy is it to cock up and melt a piston ? Any instructions and or images would be welcomed.

(If anyone's interested, a Duty Solenoid Valve, which may be causing my problems, costs £127.82 incl vat).

Thanks,

MKC

iwill let you know when i fit my new one tomoorow.

MKC 15 April 2003 10:00 AM

Any luck fitting it ?????

Cheers..

Jas W 15 April 2003 07:41 PM

yes i have just fitted it in 10 mins. no reseting it.all you need to do is un-screw the first jubalee clip from the air box and un-clip air box, remove the plugs on the maf sensor and remove the whole pipe and top of air box. then un-screw the srews from the sensor with a pear of plires and pull out the sensor. the do the oppersite to fit it back in. if you have a my98 the sensor may have 5 pins and the one you get may have 4 like mine, but i have put it in and it is working.
hope this has helped you. let me know of any promlems.

MKC 16 April 2003 01:22 PM

Thanks. I will see what the Rolling Road diags show and post an update along with any MAF install info for a MY99.

INGHAM 18 April 2003 01:22 AM

Hotpants 12 June 2003 07:08 AM

Picked up my new MAF yesterday ( For uk 99 Turbo) was simply gonna unplug the old one & replace with new , but have since been told the ecu will need resetting & a red light may appear on the dash display , is this true ? Cheers

Gidney&Knowlesy 12 June 2003 07:32 AM

Hotpants yes need a reset to clear memory of error code.....

Hotpants 12 June 2003 07:58 AM

Cheers , is this an easy task for somebody who has never done this before or shall I pop into Subaru or something.

Hotpants 12 June 2003 03:05 PM

Thanks for your help

Jas W 12 June 2003 06:44 PM

i just put mine in and it works there is no need to reset the ecu. i have fitted mine back in april and it is still going strong.

Danny B 13 June 2003 07:42 PM

Is it worth replacing these anyway as a means of preventative maintenance?
Say every 20,000 miles or 24 months??
For £76 it seems silly not to.

Perilay 14 June 2003 11:14 AM

Hi, I have a my99 uk turbo and recently fitted a K&N induction kit, I have noticed a drop in power recently 1st & 2nd not giving the same 'kick', could this be a MAF issue?

Cheers

SPARKY WRX 28 July 2003 01:26 PM

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if this sensor will fit my 1994 wrx

Cheers

Mark

(just had a look at my sensor and there is a green sticker on the back with a similar No. but is different - 22680AA160 is this the No. which I should quote to the dealer?)

Thanks

WREXY 28 July 2003 04:48 PM

I suppose that's the number to quote. The MAF is diffrent on the MY94 to the MY99/00 ones.

Cheers,

George.

vulnax999 28 July 2003 07:55 PM

Its a weird part though, I was expecting a fragile piece of wire element, but this is hard resign type plastic with a kinda ceramic bit on that does the sensing, tuff as nails to look at.
Is this a thin film MAF rather than the older hot wire MAF ?

WREXY 28 July 2003 11:17 PM

Yes.

msallua 03 August 2003 01:56 PM

PAUL:
Checked with dealer today and the usa one is the same as the uk but for na only.

Can you confirm with the dealer if the 02 oxygen sensor is the same for USA and UK for a MY99?

UK Part Number : 22690AA320
USA Part Number : 22791AA00A

There is a quick way, or the good old fashioned disconnect the battery overnight, re-enter radio presets and set clock in the morning method;)

Just drive it fairly gently for a bit there after (get it up to operating temp), gradually feeding it more gas as you go so it learns the limits again (a few more minutes ;) ). I have heard of people insisting ripping the thing a new hole after a reset is best, too...somehow I doubt that (IMHO) ;)

Making sure you have a nice juicy tank of good fuel at the time can help it set-up for the best performance :) (natch, if you put NUL in shortly thereafter you'll gain very little as the ECU will likely turn the fun down in repsonse ;) ).

Hope I am right :o

Just thought I'd update this thread with todays prices. I just got one from Subaru main dealers and they're £125 inc vat. My local (ish) dealer (Twyford) wouldn't give me any club discount but another one would! (Bell & Colvill - West Horsley) but its wasn't worth the drive to save £6.
