Just got my car a week ago and I am trying to leave the car tickin over for a minute after journeys as per the little sticker on my door.
What do you all think about the "tick over for a minute" thing after driving?? Waste of time or a good habit?? |
Very good habit.

Try to cruise slowly for the last mile or so before switching off, to get some cooling air into the engine bay, but still always give it at least a minute to circulate the cooling oil through the hot turbo before you switch off, its not just hype, failure to do this will reult in cooked oil seals and a big bill! :(

Unless your exhaust is so loud the neighbours start to complain ;)
Personally I thought the point was always moot unless you came off a motorway and straight into a service station or something, or do you drive on boost all the way home onto your driveway? If you have 5-10 minutes of normal low rev town driving before you tuck it away for the night, you can just turn off the engine. Steve. |
double-o-removed.
