Anyone know how do these value vs uk based cars, things to watch out for, differences in trim level etc? Insurance? Anything to know / watch for in general?

Thanks,
Mark.

Should be a pretty safe bet. I drive a Euro import Seat Leon and have had no problems, including with dealers.

No connection, but I know people who have been happy with import Golfs supplied by broom-broom.com.

Watch the warranty as non UK cars manufacturers warranty starts on DATE OF BUILD not on the date of 1st registration. In our case it did us out of 3 months warranty without our knowledge.

Thanks.

Any ideas how they book second hand vs. uk cars? Same, or cheaper?

I had real problems trying to sell the Golf I had from Belgium. My Dad imported it and I then bought it off him about a year down the line. I had it a year and I couldn't give it away. Basically the money you save on one from new is lost when you sell it, so don't expect to get the same price for an equivelant UK car.

If you know someone who works for VW you can get 20% off all VW/Audi group cars. Shame they're all so boring then!
