Looks like they've had a bit of a dispute, doesn't it!

I like the idea of no swearing, or use of misspelled expletives.

Makes a refreshing change!

Copy of an email received earlier this week:

Pardon the mass e-mail, but this message is going out to all the members of the i-Club just to let you know we are changing our domain name and we didn’t want to lose anyone in the shuffle.

The new domain name will be http://www.nasioc.com/. We had a bit of trouble over the existing domain name ownership, so unfortunately i-club.com had to go away. :(

The change to the new domain name http://www.nasioc.com/, which stands for North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club (the long name for i-Club) will take a few days to appear on the internet.

If you have any problems reaching us at http://www.nasioc.com/, then you can reach us through our direct IP address, http://216.242.153.40/, until the new domain starts working in your neck of the woods.

And if you haven’t been back to the site in a while please visit, we’ve grown quite a bit in the last few months. And stay tuned the i-Club is in for some great changes in the near future that I’m sure you will enjoy.

This explains what happened

I think alex registered the domain i-club.com.

Call it a diffenence in management styles. Basically a dispute between the two "owners" of the website.

There are now two websites: the original site is now www.nasioc.com and the "new" site is www.i-club.com

There was a bunch of mud-slinging when the split first took place, but things are settling down a bit now.

I'd be far more worried about the ridiculous power claims than any of the swearing I have seen on i-club ;):D

What is worrying, is that we can link to a page in their moderators forum

EvilBevel 26 November 2002 08:59 AM

That's an easy trick Neil, happens all the time  ;)

Nah, they posted the moderators thread in the O/T forum ... not sure that was a wise move.
