Right, we are just about to change our broadband provider and we are not 100% sure who to go for.

We thought Pipex, but as it always takes at least 10 days to get connected we'll use 56K connection during that time. Pipex don't do any 30 days free trial and then upgrade......

Freeserve do, and they update it with all your existing settings and passwords as on the free trial.

I thought this sounds good, but just want to know if anybody on here had any experisnces with Freeserve that would like to share with me before we commit to them.

Thanks
Kate

Hello

Most people at ADSLGuide ( http://www.adslguide.org.uk ) seem to prefer either Zen ( http:/www.zenadsl.co.uk) or Nildram ( http://www.GetADSL.co.uk ).

I certainly have used those ISP's to pre-register, and haven't had any complaints.

I use PIPEX ADSL at home.

Signed up earlier in the year, taking advantage of a modem exchange deal.

Only had one occasion where it went t1ts up for a few hours. The problem was reported on their web site (lucky I still had an analogue modem kicking about) and I seem to remember was a knock on effect from BT doing some work?

Otherwise very happy with it.

At work we use Demon ADSL. This is also very good except recently we hava lot of DNS "funnies".

Not tried any others.

Cheers

Matt

I'm with nildram.

The service + connection is really good. Jolt host their gaming servers on the nildram network so my pings are really good ;)

The only problem is that you can't pay by direct debit - only standing order!

But at 25quid odd a month, I'm not going to worry.... :)

I have Freeserve BB, and have had it since its trialing back in December. I would have to rate the experience very good, good customer support, in fact I have nothing bad to say about it at all, even the people I have led in the direction of Freeserve BB have all said how good the overall package is.

This is of course my opinion, but it comes as you can see from experience
