Looked at a my01 sport and the air box is where the intercooler is on a turbo.Looking at my manual this is where mine should be but it's in the same place as a turbo is this normal for a my99 sport?

Should have a big black expansion box where the intercooler would be (ie at the top back of the engine). Air filter box should be at the the font of the engine bay - drivers side (for RHD).

The expansion box is supposed to mean there's always enough clean air for the engine, regardless on how much it sucks (pun not intended) - turbos don't need, cos the air is forced in anyway.
