my 99t turbo (uk) has a flat spot at 2-2250 rpm when started from cold in the morning, feels like damp or that sort of doddery flat spot.

Any ideas anyone?

Have you had the car in cold weather before, and if so, did it do it then? Has idling got worse (when the car's warm) or is it OK?

Ah. Well. 'They all do that sir' :rolleyes: is the usual from Subaru on this one, I'm afraid. There are just ways of minimising it - it's not likely there's anything wrong!

MAF = Mass Air Flow Meter.

It's this doo-hickey that measures how much air the engine is snorting thru the turbo, so that the computer can adjust the amount of fuel to suit.

I would strongly suggest you try the earth mod first: It's a lot cheaper.

Sounds like the same sort of problem I have/had with my MY00 (scoobysport BackBox). I've added a couple of extra earth leads and the engine is much smoother when cold now - well worth it! Cost me £5 for leads at Halfords!

It hasn't sorted my warm idle out though so I'm going to check the MAF out this weekend. Anyone have any hints on how best to go about it?
