Seen this done on several track days etc. Just wondering if its a wise thing to do, or just a lazt wa of getting the car off the deck quickly!

This point (along with the towing eye on the front) has been recommended to me by a Subaru mechanic. Andrew... |
Yep - not a problem - we do this when using the pit.
|
Yep, it's fine. I almost sh@t myself when I first tried it as the diff does move like it's about to snap off
Use a thickish piece of wood between the diff and the trolley jack to prevent any damage. Stefan |
I thought that using a bit of wood would be a sensible pecaution.
|
Yeah, you would think, but you can never be too sure with some of the Muppets on these boards ;):D

I used to think that the wood was necessary too. After I saw a pumpkin apart I decided it's not necessary. It's cast iron and more than 1cm thick. You could lift 2 cars by it without making a mark. Even my thin Subaru diff protector wasn't marked by a floor jack.
