LOL at this:

Consent to E-Mail Your Contacts. As part of the installation process, Permissioned Media will access your MicroSoft Outlook(r) Contacts list and send an e-mail to persons on your Contacts list inviting them to download FriendGreetings or related products.
It's a polite mass-mailer.

isn't that how a virus works? World's first PC virus (that is politically correct - not the other PC)

Depends.... technically I guess it's advertising, and they're asking for your permission to email everyone in your PAB, so run at your own risk..

Saying that, looking on various web sites, it installs some active x components which can be removed via add/remove programs.

I got this in our network last Friday, not impressed as we go through that well know company that claim to stop 100% of viruses.

They say as it's not technically a virus they had no cause to stop it...but if a URL for worm is posted in an email I personally think they should have stopped conming in.
They have however, due to the amount of people that phoned and complained, now blocked it.

Without getting into the differences between a virus, a worm and a trojan, most worms don't ask for permission to spread.

World's first PC virus (that is politically correct - not the other PC)
There has been at least one virus in the past that actually asked for permission to infect the user's computer.
