Si, easiest place to pick it up is at the ECU, which is in the passenger footwell. The wiring loom varies from model to model, but someone should know. What year?

Soundlinx resell a tool made by Dietz that helps locate the correct wire.

i got the ECU layout on my computer if it for the bug eye.

this is a US site with the diagrams on, in past experiance doing ICE in subarus the diagrams for US spec has been the same as UK.

heres the plug diagram for the ECU, if its a MY01/02 then the wire is Green and Yellow on plug A1.

Right, i've found the easiest way to get to the speed pulse wire. If I'm wrong can somenpe PLEASE correct me as it'll save me trying out different wires with an led.

I haven't checked it yet, but i'm pretty sure it's the black and green wire (mostly black with two narrow green stripes on my98)that comes out of the middle connector of the three that go into the control cluster (which can be removed by undoing the two screws at the top to release the surround, then remove the three that hold the control cluster. with a bit of moving around it can be removed without taking the steering wheel off). This took me about ten minutes to take off.

Have I got the right wire????????

For all you my98 owner out there, the speed pulse wire from the rear of the control cluster is green with black pin stripe. Black and green stripe is indicator.

The way i've wired it means that it'll only think i'm driving when turning off somewhere. Or in a females' case, that the car is never driven.
