i know that you should use fully synthetic oil in the impreza's but what viscosity is recomended, most oil's seem to be 5w50 that ive seen for sale, does any one know if this is ok to use, in a 95 wrx, cheers,

I run silkolene 15W50 but some people recommend a slightly thinner one during winter. Definitely stay away from 0W oils as they are too thin, I think Subaru UK now allow a Mobil 5W without affecting warranty. Not that I give a damn as mine is a import ;).

The other commonly available oil is Mobil One Motorsport 15W50. I use to use this before moving to the silkolene. The MOM can be brought from halfords, just make sure you buy the 15W50 one though ;). Have a search through the techincal forum there is plenty on oils.

Most of the time it depends on what you prefer  But generally speaking, higher powered engines should use thinner oil. I always used 10W/40 though :D
