Thank You...what do you think of the MITSI FTO Type R?

marty_t3 08 November 2002 12:23 PM

try Calder Motors just outside edinburgh. They can source pretty much anything you like.

Dracoro 08 November 2002 12:33 PM

Dream Weaver 08 November 2002 01:04 PM

MR2 :)

Come and have a go in mine if you are in Lancs :)

Andy Tang 08 November 2002 01:11 PM

An early Honda Integra Type R? (An R-reg UK supplied one with FHSH should be about the top of what you are willing to spend)

Houlbt 08 November 2002 01:13 PM

E30 M3

munna 08 November 2002 01:14 PM

I do like the Type R....its just trying to source one with the right amount of miles.....Ok Its A toss up between FTO ANd Integra Type R.....

I will start the search now....

munna 08 November 2002 01:16 PM

E30 M3_...left hooker...man will die when he drives a left hooker!!

V-techland 08 November 2002 01:21 PM

I'll go with Andy Tang...................an early Intergra Type-r would be the way forward for you my friend!

Unfortunately for your money it will almost definately be white with the Red seats, however Honda have confirmed that throughout all of the Type-r powered range of cars (integra, Civic, Accord), non have ever had a warranty engine claim, and i saw one at Santa Pod at USC with over 100k miles and it ran a high 13 1/4 mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh almost 4got, they are one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever, and the engine is too die for.

Gary Foster 08 November 2002 01:24 PM

Westfield, all the things mentioned above are too slooow.

Gary

munna 08 November 2002 01:24 PM

Integra Type R it is....now i need to source one...white with red seats...will do for me....

Katana 08 November 2002 01:26 PM

An early imported impreza. Not only are they cheap, but they outperforms the newer bug-eyed ones.

Evotion 08 November 2002 01:28 PM

Cant remember what mag it was.. But best car for less than £10, 000
was the Integrale. You could get a good EVO1 for £7-8000...

Was one of only 3 cars out of the many, many sportscars listed that got a max 10/10 for fun.
E30 M3 was another, cant remember the other. Maybe the exige which is out of the price range anyway..

Katana 08 November 2002 01:40 PM

Correction, you can get an Ev0 II for near to nothing now. They can't seem to shift it as fast as second hand subarus for some reason.

V-techland 08 November 2002 01:42 PM

Early Scoobs and Integrale's are good cars lads , but for Munna's budget he would need at least a couple of grand back up if any problems occur with the above mentioned, not to mention the servicing convenience and cost difference.

Munna if you can, try and get a 98- car with the four four circular headlamps, these are the Jap/UK ones and not American (like the single piece light versions which are slightly older and cheaper), reasons for this being that they are less to insure (actually speaking of insurance you'll be looking at £1000 to insure an Integra depending on your age! e.g. my friend is 28 has owned the car 2 years and his is aroung 800fc), but are more crucially 'avoided by the dealers' for servicing etc wheras the newer ones are not.

If you haven't driven one 'get out there' and have a go they are fookin awesome, and as for value for money then they are very difficult to beat.

PS not a dig lads I think the 'Grale is one of the best homologation wagons ever created and as for older cheaper Scoobs then 'bang for your buck' fantastic.

CraigH 08 November 2002 01:44 PM

..and cannot be another scoob!!?..

Reckon that means he doesn't want a nother scoob..... ;)

Pulsar GTIRs are dirt cheap now.
Integra Rs' can be had for 8k

munna 08 November 2002 01:56 PM

was lucky and fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of owning 3 scoobs...been driving around in a heap of C$AP for the last year..need something to brighten up my daily 14 mile journy to work and back....

MikT 08 November 2002 02:00 PM

INTEGRALE?????

Stick to the bus routes and keep change in your pocket!

;O)

Katana 08 November 2002 02:03 PM

You don't use the bus much do you? Trust me, after 2 weeks commuting on 2 busses and train for a single journey to Reading every day, you'd be willing to buy a Nova..

Jay m A 08 November 2002 02:20 PM

I'd buy a reliable heap of crap for the daily commute and get a caterfield for the weekend. Thats what I'm doing once finances are in order :)
