Drove past a new speed camera site today, truvelo i think it was called. Camera faces the on coming traffic, I get that, but the calibration lines start AFTER the camera

How's that work then?

Mikey

It's obviously bi-directional.

Ther're the clever little buggers that the lines on the road are within a foot. They give very little time to react plus they get a photo of the mug driving

The lines after the speed camera are there to fool you, look closely at the road BEFORE the camera you will see four small lines which arent noticable from a distance.
Be carefull peeps

On a road near me - typical open A road - easy travelling - they have installed 8!! new Gatso cameras - however there are no lines on the road, put just past each camera is a sensor wire in the road a few feet apart - you can see where they have slot cut the carriageway to fit the wires........

How's that work then - I thought all gatso's had to have the painted lines?

p.s - I've never yet seen them work....in fact I rip past one in particular every day:)

Sounds like those two new 'uns on Notts Road, Ilson. :(

They're Truvelos alright. Got the sensor strip in front but more curiously calibration lines used with Gatsos behind.

Yup, all around Long Eaton now and University Boulevard have suddenly sprouted a few!! Feckin things.

Cheers dudes,

So basically if you are slowing down for the lines, it's too late :(

I reckon that you could do 'em for entrapment there ;) what's the point of the lines if it's not to simply deceive eh?
