Insurance companies are a big naff naff as far as I'm concerned...

just thought I'd share that with you all... my winge for the day... night night... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Hmmm...If I was hit by a "Direct Line Driver" the last thing I'd do is let them fix it!

Bodyshop of my choice, thanks all the same!

When that advert comes on, I always find myself thinking, lucky no one was on the crossing, just look where the car ends up

adverts nearly as crap as the speeding at 35mph one where the car skids for ages with wheel locked and has no apparent reduction in speed, hows that happen then!?

robski

p.s. the churchill advert is actually showing typical call centre training, repeat after me "i must have an IQ of 5, oh yes yes"

...which leads to the question, why the hell did he stop in the first place if no-one was on the crossing?

The advert says nothing about the actual DL insured driver. He/she will probably be hung drawn and quartered and face a very large renewal fee. Not to mention they will have to spend 8 - 12 months trying to get their money back.

monkeyladies.com excellent site http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

And why on earth would I want to insure with a company that was charging me a premium that included sorting out someone else's car as well? Third party liability is one thing, paying for collection, repair and return with a big cheery smile is something else.

I'm with Direct Line, they were the cheapest. They're also Privilige's sister company, so I guess if you're with them you might as well be with Direct Line http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the advert implies you do not have to stop and exchange details etc if the other person is a 'Direct Line Driver'.

I'm also with Direct Line as they were the cheapest for me, but I really HATE that advert !!!

Erm well i am just glad it was a minor ad rant and not what i thought it was !!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

CRAFT 28 September 2001 09:26 PM

The thing that bugs me about the DL ad, at the beginning of the ad you can hear a thumping base line in the background, is this implying that the car that ran into the back had a base box, or just putting the idea in your bonce that it could be a young reckless driver that has run into the car?

My insurance is with DL and I had someone run into the back of me in my other car and DL were useless. I ended up getting the insurance company of the person who ran into me to deal with it as the DL garage would not turn up to give me an estimate. My chosen garage did the work and it was superb and the other insurance company even hired me a Landrover Disco to tow my caravan so my holidays were not ruined. Long live Norwich Union. Down with DL. Thanks very much to Norwich union direct. They were easy to deal with and i was still getting calls from DL two weeks after telling them to shove their help.....TAZ
