From the Ford website
WRC inspired, high-performance Focus
Duratec RS 2.0-litre engine, advanced turbo-charging system with 65 per cent more power than standard
2.0-litre: 215PS @ 5,500rpm/ 310Nm @ 3,500rpm
Quaife torque-biasing differential for optimal front-wheel-drive tractability
RS performance: 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds, 0-100 mph in 15.5 seconds, 100-0mph in just 4.1 seconds, top
speed of 144 mph

At end of day each to their own but why spend that kind of money on a car that only delivers 215bhp and does 0-60 in 6.4 secs??????????
You would get beat by a BMW estate on the school run.
Get a serious machine if you want to talk big!!!!

co55ie 22 November 2002 05:48 PM

Sti man compare the above with a UK WRX.
From what I was led to believe by the scoobsters that it was what happened in the twisties that counted. Isn't this the dept the RS has the scoob licked ? gh

Katana I expect you will try and pull one of your famous fatility moves if I take you up on your offer although you were totally fit in the movie so maybe worth the risk.

Katana 22 November 2002 06:14 PM

Sure, a/s/l?

co55ie 22 November 2002 06:25 PM

LOL

wrxstiman 22 November 2002 06:45 PM

Dont know about UK WRX and am not a big fan of it either. Ruddy ugly IMHO.
How anyone can buy a fugly and say it looks good is beyond me.

Probably would beat the UK WRX but not an import Type R. I have 4.3 secs 0-60.

beemerboy 11 December 2002 12:53 PM

Cant believe how old this thread is, but:

Ive just put a deposit down on a Focus RS yesterday(pick it up next week.):luxhello: , has bluefin superchip, K&N filter, Sports cat and Milltek exhaust system and some other mods which has a rolling road printout of 265bhp.

Just come from a 380bhp Evo 7 so the FRS in comparison is pretty slow, but at least servicing and parts are cheap and insurance is cheaper by £1k and the fuel bills wont be as high!:notworthy and there are only 2.5k made in RHD so makes it pretty rare as well.

Was really impressed with the Focus RS and to be fair i didnt intend to buy one, but after test driving a RS i had to have one.

The question is will it be quicker then a Scooby WRX!

I DONT REALLY CARE TO BE HONEST!:p
