Co55ie,
they will probably have to drop the price to sell them anyway so they will depreciate like mad (remember the FORD racing puma? 23k new, 12k second hand in less than 2 years  but having big names on a car dont make it drivable on our roads (probably great in germany so are you moving? ;)) and the fact they can only run on 97ron fuel too should keep you busy ;)

Tony:D

TonyBurns 07 November 2002 12:02 AM

Co55ie,
save up and wait till 2104 when the mk 289 focus is out with a cosworth variant ;)

Tony:D

Crush 07 November 2002 12:05 AM

The RS Focus is practical and cheap to run and is superb value for money 18 oz rims, Brembo brakes, AP racing clutch etc etc all for under 20k on the road with 12 months tax and a 3 year warranty. In my opinion this really is a remarkable package
Sounds good to me

TonyBurns 07 November 2002 12:14 AM

Are you Tracey bias or something? ;)

Tony:D

Crypt 07 November 2002 12:57 AM

No I am not mad my cossie will destroy an evo to be honest the acceleration of an evo is pretty dull they are hardly quick are they
That depends on what you do to them, mod them like you have done with your saph and you'l have a better looking, better handling, faster, more enjoyable car IMO. :)

What is this obsession you have with beating/blitzing/slagging everything but your own car? Are you insecure with something else in your life?

You need to chill out dude, take a holiday. :)

beemerboy 07 November 2002 11:30 AM

LOL at co55ie posts,
you are a wind up merchant, but make me laugh.

PS my big brothers skyline will p1ss your £200 saph dustbin!!!

...just for the record!!;)

enjoy life with that knowledge, if you can!

merkin 07 November 2002 11:39 AM

Me too, I do look forward to co55ie's postings, they crack me up, still not convinced he's not the ultimate troll :D

Keep 'em coming co55ie :D

TonyG 07 November 2002 11:44 AM

Hmmm.... hook, line, sinker, possibly copy of Angling Times here as well?

CraigH 07 November 2002 12:59 PM

Hmmm

A Focus 289.......that'd be cool. Or with a 427 - Focus Cobra.... :D

co55ie 07 November 2002 01:15 PM

merkin - isn't a merkin a pubic wig ?
Strange name and have youhad the clap ?

Carlos The Jackel 07 November 2002 01:48 PM

The Racing Puma value colapesd due to it total lack of perfomance - 0-60 in 7.9 secs - Slower than a std Fiesta RS Turbo. There is no doubt the RS Focus will not suffer the same residual loss, you are dreaming if you think so! Also I love these "reviews" - drive one yourself then comment on handling!! If you havent then you are pretty much guessing!

There have been exaggerations which lets face it, make good TV. The bottom line for me is that Ford have made a cracking car at a good price. But after driving it, its not the car for me as I did find the so-called torque-steer to be too intrusive on uneven roads.
Tony Burns NOTE-

I just don't understand why there aren't demonstrator cars available right now. The car is fantastic, don't let me put you off it, but how do you know its right for you until you've driven it?
If you just can't help taking the bait laid by co$$ie then don't read his posts! Your blood pressure must get pretty high:D

merkin 07 November 2002 01:53 PM

co55ie, a merkin is indeed a pubic wig, why you would need one if you had had the clap is confusing, perhaps you could elaborate given your obvious experience in these matters? ;) :p

TurboBoost 07 November 2002 02:22 PM

Brilliant thread.

bioforger 07 November 2002 02:28 PM

I just hope you dont spank your new RS into a hedge, somebody else or kill yourself c055ie, as we all know the RS on any surface other than a baby bottom smooth racing circuit is very dodgy indeed ;) Would be a shame to miss out on your trolling threads :)

Jay m A 07 November 2002 02:58 PM

So who/what did a 2.99 0-60?

I assume it was a Ford of some kind, what was the spec?

Troll free answer please, I'd really like to know :)

Justin

TomM 07 November 2002 03:45 PM

Tylow77 07 November 2002 04:40 PM

What did Clarkson drive off in at the end again? .... we're talking bout clarkson here, whats ya point ;)

PS my big brothers skyline will p1ss your £200 saph dustbin!!!...n my dads bigger than yours :p

co55ie 07 November 2002 04:59 PM

Sorry Tylow all UK modded skylines are pants does your lover's one do 0 - 181mph in 7.91 secs. No it doesn't then its not a well sorted car is it.
I doubt your lovers car could even compete with a 330bhp escos round a track in reality.

Flyboy-F33 07 November 2002 05:05 PM

kind of makes sense to a man of my limited intelligence anyway.

Perhaps co55ie has a better understanding of himself that we give him credit for. lmao

Tylow77 07 November 2002 05:09 PM

Co55ie read back m8 there quotes from others in previous posts, with my comments after the dots :)

I drive a cos so i'm hardly likely to be on ya case

0 - 181mph in 7.91 secs
What car does this then? (other than top fuel dragster/funny car?)

Dave Coulshaw 07 November 2002 06:03 PM

Its an HKS car and sorry it took it 7.95 secs not 7.91. LOL
Bollocks. The best car makers in the world are trying to crack the 6 secs to 100 mark in a road car. Current F1 cars take c10 secs to get to 150, pray tell which HKS car is so good it can get to 181mph in 7.95 secs?

By my very rough calculations, a car would need well over 2000bhp per tonne AND drag co-efficient better than 0.25 to even get close. The same car would do 0-60 in around 1 second

Saying that, I'm sure a stage one cosworth would get close ;)

co55ie 07 November 2002 06:16 PM

the AVI is available on Fullboost.com have a look coleslaw

Dave Coulshaw 07 November 2002 06:19 PM

oh dear coleslaw
Were you born an objectionable w*nker or did it take work?

Top F1 cars are 'only' c900bhp, but only weight about 480kgs (600kg with driver an c30kg of balast). To even match an F1 cars performance to 150mph, your 1680bhp car would have to weight less than 900kg. To hit 181mph in less than eight seconds it would have to weigh less than 500kg, and be as slippery at 180 as a zero-downforce F1 car is at c100.

So come on....what is this mystical car based on? and where's your proof?

Dave Coulshaw 07 November 2002 06:24 PM

..oh and F1 cars are "extremely slow to 30mph"?? So I guess your cossie is quicker then? An F1 car hits 60 in c2-2.2 secs, and thus 30 in c1.1 mmmmmm, thats extremely slow

It really must be half term.

co55ie 07 November 2002 06:53 PM

coleslaw I think you will find your timings for f1 cars is not correct and if they are then it proves that an F1 car is only slightly quicker to 60 than a souped up Sierra. And little quicker than a 20k turbo road car to 30mph whats an escos 1.3 in standard fettle LOL at 1.1
Various road legal Skylines run 8 - 9 second quarter miles as I am sure you are aware. The HKS car on the AVI ran a 7.95 with a terminal speed of 181mph. Yes it is faster in a straight line than an F1 car.
As I said the AVI is there for you to see on Fullboost.com of course that is unless you want to prove to yourself that your spouting rubbish.

You tell me coleslaw what a cars terminal speed would be if it pulled a nine second quarter mile ? Seeing as though you are so good at inaccurate calculations. Or perhaps the case maybe that none of these massive power skylines exist. Strange as one holds the world record for a road legal quarter mile do a search on the net for confirmation of this.

I am sure you have some useless engineering degree or another so has the knob that designed the bug eyed scoob enough said

co55ie 07 November 2002 07:14 PM

Have a look as I said coleslaw at Fullboost.com there is also an EVO 6 doing a quarter mile in 10.27 with a terminal speed of 142mph this kind of makes your figures someway out doesn't it The files you want are dc_evo1027 and dc_hks_795 maybe this will stop your unfounded rantings.
Go and garnish a salad you funny little mancunian you.
P.S Do you blow goats ?

scoobysnacks 07 November 2002 07:21 PM

Straight line acceleration isn't everything. Try 0-100-0 is less than 6 seconds and I think your Skylines will struggle quite a bit. Also, put them on a track (you must like smooth surfaced tracks if you're getting a Focus RS...) and I believe an F1 car would make them look like shopping trollies how ever much power they may have.

TonyBurns 07 November 2002 08:10 PM

Carlos,
20k is a VERY expensive test drive mate ;)
So the point is, run out, buy car for 20k without driving it, drive it, dont like it, bye bye 20k (another cheap way of making money from ford  ) need i say more? ;):p

Tony:D

PS, Ford Racing Puma was toooooooo expensive for what you got, thats why they didnt sell (developement costs etc) but they are a good second hand bargain if you want to be different (just find one of the ex demonstrator cars, which is about half of them ;))

Carlos The Jackel 07 November 2002 08:30 PM

:D@ Tony, do you think if co$$ie was given his own forum hed argue with himself?
