The scooby is being replace with an Avensis and I was wondering if anyone had any experiance (good or bad) of chipping this engine.

No experience on chipping a D4D but I suspect it will chip just as well as most other modern turbo diesels - most of the plug-in suppliers seem to list one for the Avensis. I would suspect a genuine 20% power and torque increase. (Take any bigger claims with a pinch of salt)

thanks for that 4x4.

Any such chips that are warranty-approved?

I'm really close to getting a diesel RAV4, extra 20% would be interesting!

Toyota (as with most manufacturers) do not offer warranty-approved chips. With the most of the plug in boxes you can unplug them before a service and leave no trace, and modern remaps are normally undetectable to normal dealer diagnostics
